"English is riddled with gun metaphors...".
https://www.yahoo.com/news/letters-editor-english-riddled-gun-100037964.html
Who says it doesn't snow in southern California? Seems like there's a snowflake that wants to go to the fundamentals of the "gun culture" by removing references to firearms from our speech. Just for fun, what are some of your favorites?
I don't want to start the thread off on a sour note so I'll tell you my least favorite later on in the thread.

Ready, fire, aim
Grammar and context really aren?t my thing but people shouldn?t run around half cocked shooting their mouths off.

Kind of a loaded question to ask.
This thread might just trigger me. Without going too far into the arsenal, I may just fire off a few bullet points. I don't think I can cover it lock, stock and barrel.

Irving just needs to pull the trigger.
He should, unless he's gun shy.
Hit me with your best shot, fire away.... (okay, lyrics to a song....)
I'm gonna take you down
Oh, down, down, down
So, don't you fool around
I'm gonna pull it, pull it, pull the trigger
Shoot to thrill, play to kill
Too many women with too many pills, yeah
Shoot to thrill, play to kill
I got my gun at the ready, gonna fire at will, yeah
He should, unless he's gun shy.
Or he already shot his load.

I'm sorry but most of these metaphors are of pretty low caliber.
There could be some blowback over this.
Or it could just be a flash in the pan.

I'm half-loaded and can't come up with anything.
Maybe I jumped the gun on that last post.

As excited as she was. Her passions, soon turned to disappoint. When she realized he had a hair trigger.
I'm a gunphomanic.
Nothing like racking your slide, after lubing it up. Holding that heavy piece , gently applying pressure, till it goes off, multiple times in your hand.
Go home, cleaning it up, only to ignore it. When a new piece comes along.

Oh yeah, we have a gun "fetish" LOL!!!
I've been trying to think of these things but I suck at it. When it comes to word play, I couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with a punk gun at five paces.

None of you possible hippies getting old remembered Ozzy, and Shot in the Dark?
I might have winged it a bit, but I'd rather not overshoot the target. I don't want to rifle through the aspects, or shoot from the hip on this.
