Do you deal directly with the parent company or find a dealer? Basically, what is the lowest cost solution? This is my first time, yay! <-- No remarks needed. HA.

I haven't gotten a suppressor yet, so I'll try to stay out of this thread. However, one thing that I see suggested a lot, is to find a stocking dealer, so you aren't waiting 9 months for them to make your suppressor.

Good point Sturtle...

Another question, been doing some reading and:

Is it true that on a AR platform with a supressor and using subsonic rounds that you have to cock each round?

You should be able to adjust the gun to cycle subsonic rounds so you don't have to manually feed each round.

yes subsonics do not function as you would like them to in a semi platform. You could go with an adjustable gas tube from brownells, this way with a turn of the set screw, it is either semi or single shot.
deal with a local Class 3/NFA ffl. there are no suppressor mfg's that i know of that will deal directly with you, unless someone is a lic mfg in state. Fiinding a dealer that has a suppressor in stock saves you another 3 months min waiting for Mfg-FFL transfer paperwork.
i run standard out of box loads on all my 223 suppressor platforms. the Db level depends on length of bbl, bolt, lever, semi or single shot.
