My prediction is that SCOTUS will rule against the 2A thinking this will placate Democrats and they'll abandon their court packing plans. They won't.

Wouldn?t surprise me, I don?t trust anyone at that level anymore.

Like many here I am skeptical. Not because I should be, more superstition. Anytime we have a broad GOP majority in government (and could make real progress), if anything we backtrack slightly. Regan anyone? What about Trump... all we got was bump stock bans.. no real progress. Etc.

Why would the Supreme Court, with a fresh GOP majority, buck THAT trend....

The supreme court is why I voted for T. I hope it pays off, but I have real doubts.

Personally, I don’t trust the court. Simple judicial cowardice to take on this subject. I suspect that Kazoo is correct.

I don't trust Roberts. He'll sign on to the majority, and then write an opinion that means nothing. The right wing of the court knows that this is as good as it is going to get. The longer the justices spoil on the vine, the more they go left. Get these new guys before they start to go wobbly. (Thomas does seem to be largely immune to this though).

To be perfectly frank, we'd be better off with out Roberts. He as Chief Justice doles out who writes majority opinions. FIve solid is better than 5solid+ 1 traitor.

We need a AWB/mag decision that doesn't screw around. A 'gay marriage' type decision that doesn't leave any room for the lower courts and states to mess with it.

If you want to fell good, think about the condundrum that Roberts is in if the dems try to pack his court. His new buddies will make a partisan mockery out of SCOTUS independence and non-partisanship. It's probably legal, but the only way to keep his court from being a joke is to vote that it is not legal. One way or the other, he loses his integrity or his court. DELISH. Bad for the country, but F Roberts.
