Haven't shot in close to a year so wasn't too concerned in actually hitting a target today and just went out to CRC to vent a little. Probably a good thing I haven't looked at ammunition prices and availability in a year either or I would have felt bad shooting as much .308 as I did. DSA STG-58CP

Nice. DSAs are some good lookin' rifles. STG-58 is one of my absolute favorite builds.
One day, I will own a DSA FAL. Great lookin' rifle.

Waves hand....”you want to sell that to me for a fair to almost a steal of a price”....Yes, you do.
Nice firearm; I was wondering about the butt stock and how much it kicks...
Now if I only had powder for my high drag, low speed single shot 308 so I can pink myself...the nice thing about that setup, brass is easy to collect.
No bolt hold open on last round?

No bolt hold open on last round?
Recoil is fine and it does have a bolt hold open, I will have to figure out if that magazines follower is causing issues or if it is something else. Video with different magazine....

Looks like fun, thanks for the video. I've never shot an FAL. Seems like a handy rifle.
Having fun with the .300 BLK lately but I haven't given the 5.56 any attention lately. So it's going to the range this week along with the Garand. I gonna get some .30-06 love, yeah.
Good to know on the bolt hold open option. Now to find a place like that so I can dust off a few rifles and see if they (or more likely me) can hit anything at 100 yards.
Right now I keep thinking, bang, bang, bang - there go's 3 dollars....but it was worth it

Right now I only have a few boxes of hunting ammo, nothing I want to try to toss down range...unless it is to sight in the rile for hunting season.
I'm kind of the same way. Ammo is way too expensive today.
So I should probably shoot fewer, bigger, rounds?
Anyway, that FAL, looks very interactive. :)
I have an early Century Arms FAL type rifle that I bought used. The last round hold open didn't work when I bought it. There is a roll pin towards the top of the hold open that wasn't long enough to engage the mag follower. It extends horizontally forward out of a verticle round piece. After I replaced that with a proper length roll pin the last round hold open has worked fine. You can easily see it looking up the mag well.
Just a thought.
Have fun.
When 5.56 is running for 92 cents a round, and 7.62 is going for 96 cents, might as well bring out the big boys, since it's literally more bang for your buck.
