Where is the go-to for 4wd trail info in Colorado? I used to be a regular on CO4x4.ORG but haven't been on that board in a long time.

I know Bushducks has a user-updated trail status.

My old "go to" was Traildamage.com but last time I checked they hid everything behind a "subscription" paywall.

I figure there's a lot of crossover between shooting and 4 wheeling so I figured I'd ask here.

We're going to be camping near the Taylor Park Reservoir in about 3 weeks and I'm thinking of leading a small group over to Tincup and then maybe over Cumberland Pass to Pitkin. It's one of the few roads/trails in CO I've never been on (I've been over Tincup Pass but not Cumberland.)

All vehicles will be 4wd with low range, mix of full size and mid size (I'll be leading in my 2018 F-150.) We all have decent tires and basic recovery gear (i.e straps and shovels.)

Looking for an easy, fun day trip, nothing "technical." So does Cumberland sound like a good choice? Or are there others in the area we should consider?

Thanks in advance!

I am of no help to you on this. But dang! I totally forgot about co4x4 since I sold my jeep as well as traildamage! I will have to see if my log in still work!

Cumberland is a good choice. It's a pretty mild pass. Great views at the top. Much easier than Tin Cup. Been over it many times on my big heavy Adventure Moto.

Download the app Cotrex. It’s very good for what you want. And it’s free.

Cumberland is a car road. No 4wd needed.

ADVrider used to be good about pass and trail openings during the spring. I haven't been on there in years, since it blew up and became unreadable.

A lot of these info are now available for "free" on Facebook groups. Thats the only reason I hang out there nowadays. Overland Colorado is a good group for general camping/trail info.

I'll use a 20-yr old Charles Wells book before I'll use Facebook

My copy of his Moab book is so tattered I keep it in a plastic bag.

I have all of his Colorado books as well. Great resource.

I see the new ones are spiral bound. I'd get a new one but the old ones have a lot of notes in them.
