No one is talking about the tornado in Firestone today? I had people send me photos of the same tornado from 120th and I-25 and I-25 and Hwy 14ish. Did it do anything? Everyone okay?

I have videos from my house at 144th and Colorado blvd. It was pretty cool to watch for nearly half an hour. I can mark it off my bucket list, since seeing a bona fide tornado is something I?ve wanted to see in person since I was a little kid. I?ve seen dust devils and water spouts but never a legit tornado until today. It counts even if it?s small ;)

The ones in 86? ripping thru Denver, englewood and along stapleton were interesting to watch. Especially the one that hit the diner on broadway and evans. One minute you're seeing crap going up the funnel. Next we're being hit with misc, restaurant items (napkin holders and a few s&p shakers) down in the 5200 block of broadway. That one also tore up a lot of trees along MLK blvd.

Wow! Tornados are awesome powerful weather. If I lived in tornado country I'd sell the trailer and build an underground home.

Way back, we did a lot of canoeing and kayaking on western rivers including the South Platte from Platteville to the Nebraska border. Twice in the Fort Morgan and Brush area we had tornados come upon us within an eighth and quarter mile. There it was, the Wicked Witch of the West and the whole flying monkey troupe swarming toward us. Don't want to be caught out in the river in an aluminum canoe with lightning flashing all around. Such powerful weather events sure gives you a sense of smallness.

I lived around them for all of my life and I am still in awe of them. I?ve actually never seen one on the ground before, so this was amazing. I was relieved to hear that homes weren?t destroyed nor lives lost. There was one fire reported due to a downed power line.

I had one come through my apartment complex at midnight, many years ago in Marietta, GA. It was just winding down as it hit us. The next morning I found fiberglass insulation in the trees and 1/2? tempered safety glass from office building 1/2 mile away. That is the only time that I have lived without a basement. Every home since has had basement shelter.

I imagine it?s like living up there where you have fire danger. You live knowing that in a few minutes notice you might have to evacuate. But you don?t live in fear of it.

Very cool! The pic over Safeway is great. I?m betting it was only 5 miles from you at the time. I?m sure the boys will enjoy sharing those with friends.

I?m on the other side of the neighborhood on Street Circle.

And sure, I?m good for a beer some time. [emoji482]

I remember you mentioned that a while back. I think one other person also chimed in also.

The neighborhood checked a lot of boxes for me back when I bought the place. Quiet neighborhood, easy access, low crime, low cost. The last being the most important, as I had sticker shock coming from the Midwest.

Our little tritown is popular and growing faster than I'd like, we came just a bit north of you by the Frederick Highschool 7 years ago. More house than you'd get for the money in thornton or something and newer. Right by the highway so wife could get to aurora easy at the time and myself up to fort collins and Denver.

Howdy neighbor!

I totally forgot to mention that I also wanted to live in Weld County for the 2A support and generally more conservative population. The CHP process is painless here.
