Hey gang, I'm looking for a pelican case to hold 2 of my ARs (16in bbl, collapsible stock).

It looks like their standard rifle case is the 1720 (http://www.pelican.com/cases_detail.php?Case=1720). Does anyone have any experience with these? Are they as good as I've heard? Is the 1720 wide enough to hold two ARs?

Also, any intel on good prices would be very nice. Thanks guys.

I've got a 1700, maybe you can check Pelican's website to see the dimensional differences. It'll fit two 16" rifles, but not if they both have optics. Maybe not even if one has the carry handle attached. A couple more inches would do it.
Your other question- yes, Pelican is good stuff. I've used them for underwater cameras, other assorted dive gear, handguns, shotguns, and rifles for 25 years or so.

I have a 1700 and two 1750's, and they're awesome. A little heavy, but they'll stand up to almost anything. I took my .300 Fireball (with scope) and my SPR (no optics) and laid them in one of my 1750's to give you an idea of how things will fit. (Pic's a bit dark but it should work.) I'm not sure if you could get two scoped AR's in one of these, you might be able to get two with carry handles in if you reverse them and do some careful arranging. I'd think the best bet if you did want to do two AR's with scopes would be to get a QD type scope mount and take the scope off at least one when you case it, or possibly if both have collapsible stocks they might fit.
The only difference between the 1700, 1720, and 1750 is length. They're the same width and depth. The new 1770 looks like it would swallow two scoped rifles without a problem.

Thanks for the input. Just to clarify: There is enough room for only one of the rifles to have optics?

Edited: Troublco, you posted while I was typing my post! Thanks for the feedback, but I don't see any pictures...

Edited again: Okay, I swear there wasn't a picture a minute ago.... lol am I crazy?

Hey Guys, thanks for the responses and the pic. My ARs both have Bushnell HOLOsights on them (just a little smaller than an EOTech). Do you think I could fit them both into the 1700? It's too bad they don't make a case that is closer to 36"x16"x3" inside dimensions.

What I would do is take the measurements for the case you want, do a tape outline or cut a piece of paper to those dimensions, and then see how you can arrange them to see if they fit. Other than that, the only thing you could do is get the case and see. Just remember you want an inch or better between the outside of the case and what you put in it, and some seperation between the contents too.

And no, you're not going nuts. I had a problem with the post, and was probably fixing it while you were typing yours.

OK, if you ARE going nuts, it wasn't from that....[LOL]

I don't see how they'll fit. I can fit my M4 with a Comp M4, but not also my Carbon 15 with the 1-4 Leupold. One of the optics would have to come off.
