Just noticed this thin line on one of my bolts.
It goes all around.
Looks almost like a case head separation in the works, but it's so perfect that I wonder if it's just a machining mark and I simply never noticed...

I?d guess tool mark but who knows.

Personally, I?d just splurge on a new bolt.

Based on the pic and without seeing it in person, that looks far too consistent to be a "natural" failure.
The final judgement falls on you, but that's my opinion.

For the rest of the group's benefit, what are the details as far as manufacturer, age/round count, etc.? A lot of companies outsource components, but if we have the same from the same source, we can eyeball ours and chime in.
