Had a customer say their fleet trucks were reporting empty stations today.
Didn't think much of it until my drive home when I ran into a few completely sold out gas stations myself, including the diesel. I didn't even see that in-person during the initial covid freakout.
In fact, I've NEVER run into a sold out gas station in my life. I know it happens, but it's a first for me. Wouldn't have even had a second thought if someone hadn't told me they'd had problems too. Kinda weird.
Any word what's up?

We had them in the Fountain area this past weekend!!!
Don’t worry Joe is importing oils from Russia.....
The shortage is due to the lack of truck drivers to transport the fuel I have read. Why work when you can collect from the Gov.

This is why pipelines are so important. Higher efficiency and safer.

Several pumps for regular gas were closed in Buena Vista last weekend. Only diesel available. Monday several stations by my house in Westminster had the regular pumps closed.
Have a buddy that works for a fuel delivery service. They can't find drivers even at $75k a year.

Lack of delivery drivers makes sense.

Just an FYI, there are stations out of gas in the Springs too. I hope this doesn?t last long.
I?d sure prefer a mean tweet and $2 gas readily available to this mess.

Haven?t seen any that are out, but the prices are still climbing down here in COS.

Somewhat related story. For 2 days gas stations were out, or very low on the sandwiches they sell. Deli express brand mainly , but the other brands were effected as well. No drivers. Pretty crazy how all the drivers workin a year and a half ago have suddenly vanished off the planet. That’s sarcasm.

Last weekend some stations on the north side of the Springs didn't have gas but had diesel. Yesterday the same ones only had gas. Crazy times. Costco seems to have been immune to this, but the lines were incredibly long. Wish they had diesel here.

I wish they did as well. I think the one in Timinth has diesel, but not the ones in the springs. I was hoping that was what the construction was on the Barnes location parking lot.

I filled up in late December for $1.85/gal at a local c-store here in the Springs. $3.32/gal at that same store six months later.

The diesel by my house rose quickly initially but then stabilized at $3.09. It's been there for over a month. Then this week it started creeping up again. At least 2 increases this week and it's now over $3.30. The one station that was still advertising $3.09 was out of all gas and diesel last night. I suspect it won't be $3.09 anymore when they get a resupply.

I saw both Sam's Clubs in Colorado Springs were completely out of Premium on Tuesday. Shifted from the fun car to my Expedition which can use E85, have yet to run by Sam's to see if they got resupplied yet.

No issues in Fort Collins.
Other than regular over $3.00/ gallon!

2 stations in this area, with limited pumps, available. It's been $3.00 for some time now.
Saw one this morning in Ft Lupton all the pumps where covered.
Haven't seen any yet and I drive all over for work..

I'm having flashbacks to the Carter administration ... letting two-bit Third World nations push us around, lines for gas ... next we'll have double-digit stagflation and malaise.

Gas/diesel has been around $2.65/$2.79 for about the last month or so here in Altus. I've not seen nor heard of any stations not having gas/diesel. Drove to OKC yesterday and didn't see any issues there, either.

That's probably 87 octane at that rate too.
I'm over 3.50 for the same here
Man, you guys are getting close to WA prices. That's nuts.

I'm just waiting for Polis to announce we're not getting enough tax revenue because of people driving hybrids and electric vehicles so the state needs to increase gas taxes by another 25-50 cents ...

Except he'll call them "fees"...not taxes. It's a lot easier that way.

They did raise "fees" just a few days ago.

$3.03 is for 87 oct. It's 87 - 89 - 91 octane, at the pump.
King Soopers at 136th and Colorado Blvd is 100% out of gas and diesel today. They have the whole station coned off and the guy who was putting them out told me "we're outta gas... all types". The station at I25 and 136th seemed to have gas though - lots of cars fueling up when I drove by there...

Gotta love Colorado and the 85-87-91

You must not have been of driving age in the oil crisis of the mid to late 1970?s

I worked a gas station / repair shop back then. it was one of the few times sitting on a car, with a tire iron, didn't attract a lot of cops. ;)
Not sure we need a gas crisis, just after the covid crisis. :o
I filled up yesterday. Other than the price paid, I had no issues. My normal gas station.
