Massive Ransomware Attack May Impact Thousands of Victims (https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2021-07-03/number-of-victims-continues-to-grow-in-massive-ransomware-attack)I thought Biden already took care of this during his meeting with Putin? [/SARC]

Just weeks after President Joe Biden implored Vladimir Putin to curb cyber crime, a notorious, Russia-linked ransomware gang has been accused of pulling off an audacious attack on the global software supply chain.

REvil, the group blamed for the May 30 ransomware attack of meatpacking giant JBS SA (https://www.bloomberg.com/quote/JBSS3:BZ), is believed to be behind hacks on at least 20 managed-service providers, which provide IT services to small- and medium-sized businesses. More than 1,000 businesses have already been impacted, a figure that?s expected to grow, according to the cybersecurity firm Huntress Labs Inc (https://www.bloomberg.com/quote/1785579D:US).

There are victims in 17 countries so far, including the U.K., South Africa, Canada, Argentina, Mexico and Spain, according to Aryeh Goretsky, a distinguished researcher at cybersecurity firm ESET.

The ransomware attack is the latest in a string of devastating hacks in recent months, making cybersecurity an increasingly pressing national security issue for the Biden administration. At a summit on June 16, Biden warned Russian President Putin that 16 types of critical infrastructure (https://www.cisa.gov/critical-infrastructure-sectors) -- including food and agriculture, emergency services and health care -- were off limits to future attacks. It?s not yet known if the U.S. victims of the latest ransomware attack fell within those sectors.

"I told him "knock it off"!!!!

That'll stop him in his tracks, I even told him about Corn Pop and what I did to him at the pool".

This attack couldnt have possibly been the Russians. Investigation by the FBI and CIA will prove, beyond a doubt, that it was Trump supporters and white supremacists.

That assumes the problem was ever actually the Russian government. China is perpetrating a Cyber-War with the US and we're still pretending that all the "muh Russia" bullshit from the last 4 years was true. Additionally our own intelligence agencies are at war with the more than half of voters in this country that voted for Trump.

Who are simultaneously too dumb to vote Democrat but smart enough to hack the world.

Still boggles my mind that Slow Joe gave Putin a list of 16 targets that would hurt us real bad. Oh, and he gave him a crystal bison statue and a pair of aviators. So....Biden took him to task.

That's right up there with Carter's "stern letter of protest".
