I am not the owner, I am just a customer.

Allegedly, the owner posts on that "other" site [Flower]

Honey and stuff from what I remember the discussions; also there is hard cider

Citra X- California Orange Blossom Honey, Citra Hops, Lemon Juice and Zest
Maui Sunset- CA OB honey, Mango, Pineapple, Orange Juice
Candy Crush- CA OB honey, Candy Snap and Candy Heart Grapes
Crush Berry- CA OB honey, Raspberries, Blackberries, Blueberries, Orange Juice,
Direct Currant- CA OB honey, black currants

there are few meadery locations in the Springs.

My best guess on their website.

I haven't had more than a sip or 2 of mead before. My biggest question is: How is the hangover? This is my biggest issue with booze as I get old.

I saw him over on the other site. He?s making sure to take care of his employees, so please do the same and give him some business.

Technically, anything with fruit juice is a melomel (blackberry, cherry etc). Mead, traditionally, is honey, water and yeast only.

He?s a fellow gun owner and should be supported if mead is your thing (try it!). Most of the meaderies are hipster morons liberal idiots, so this is one to support.

If you get hangovers easily, then tread lightly with mead. For a decent amount of people, they complain that it's a worse headache than whiskey or champagne.

Even though there are more meaderies opening, it is getting harder to find a good quality "standard" mead. Everyone thinks that they have to shoehorn in 3 or more fruits, dry hop/spice and oak age everything. Just like craft beers and coffees, the hipster idiocies are ruining a great product.

I know Drekar Meadery in COS has a tasty "standard" mead that's just honey, water, and yeast. They're other two just add raspberry or blackberry, rather than crazy blends.

Re hangovers: I believe the sulfates..sulfites..?..contribute greatly. I also think Mead generally has lower sulfstuffs.

I haven't had a problem with hangovers from his mead and I'm not much of a drinker. Owner is a good guy, I know him from some other extracurriculars. He's trying to make it a quality place; opening a food or beverage place in today's climate is ballsy IMO so I'm willing to go the extra mile to help him make it a going concern. The traditional meads I've had have been too sweet for my taste but YMMV.

They are located on the SE corner of Academy and N Carefree. Construction at the shopping center means the only entrances open are from northbound Academy by the Pizza Hut and eastbound N Carefree, just around the corner.
