Sounds more like a drug deal gone wrong. Prohibited people, drugs and guns. More than one shooter- three guys and a girl?

Absolutely- In their view, your so called "right" to own weapons is directly responsible for the conduct of individuals who commit or potentially criminal acts of violence.

Could have been planning a shoot em up, maybe they were just going to sell the weapons, ammunition and drugs ?
Although meeting for a arms sale on the eighth floor in a downtown hotel would be weird ?
Felons with warrants, guns and drugs... the drugs were packaged for individual sale. Media, Politicians and the left want to make it about guns and a potential mass shooting. From what I've read it was anything but a planned mass shooting. As best I can tell the guns were illegal because they were in possession of felons.

It's a much better and more useful story if spun as a stopped mass shooting.

You plan out whatever it was you were planning to do and then neglect to hang out the “Do Not Disturb” sign.
Housekeeping enters and spoils the plot.
Too easy

Yup, hearing from a well trusted and well informed party that it was a planned drugs/gun deal that housekeeping ruined LOL.

Not really. Deals of all kinds have been done, in the most unexpected places. Allegedly.
Rich ball players in town needing an edge and relief. Drugs, strippers and hookers flooding into Denver for the millionaire game downtown this week...

They were obviously NRA members to boot.
I'm impressed that they were all able to pass a universal background check.

The one they didn?t charge with possession by previous offender may have.
But it?s also against federal law to have drugs and guns at the same time. Sure they broke plenty of other laws as well.

Sure they did. However GUNS, AMMO and THE POTENTIAL FOR ANOTHER LAS VEGAS . Make better headlines, putting fear in to the anti-gunners, than some drugs, perhaps, a lot of them have on hand.
Hey honey you hear about the terrorist threat the cops stopped, in denver? Yea, ASSAULT WEAPONS AND ENOUGH AMMO TO ARM THE MILITARY. Terrible, right ;)
Oh they also seized 2 kilos of heroin and almost the same quantity of coke. I know, hope that wasn't some of the stuff we were looking for.

Are you serious about the amount of drugs? I mean, I usually take more to the All-Star game, but that still is a lot of vroom-vroom for a party.
I wonder if they had full auto sears, or if they decided that is where they draw the line.
By the way, if you want to stop crime, skip the FBI or other LEO jobs, become house cleaning staff at a hotel. Between Denver and Chicago, cleaning ladies are ‘Cleaning up crime’. Pilot coming this fall….

ESPN (of all sources) now reporting there was no risk of a mass public shooting.

Not that I am complaining, but they sure are going out of their way to not scare the sports fan away...
I bet coverage would be quite different if the sports circus was not at risk.
Channel 5 here down in the 'springs was all over the mass shooting angle last night...

Supposedly in court this morning one of the guys claims to have worked for the fed & other le (ci/snitch?) but didn?t elaborate. My friend is still saying it was a drug/guns deal. Just sayin.

I?m curious as to what the amount of drugs found is too. Couldn?t find anything that had the amount listed.

The affidavit only states a large amount of suspected ecstasy pills as well as heroin and 12 firearms and a large amount of us currency. Lengthy criminal records for Richard Platt as well as an outstanding warrant from Douglas County. The woman had an outstanding warrant from Longmont.
