Some highlights:
It is difficult to describe the impact ? physical and personal ? of that first shot. It felt like a meteor had struck the earth in front of me. A deep shock wave coursed through my body, the recoil rippling through my arms and right shoulder with astounding power. Being that close to an explosion of such magnitude ? controlled and focused as it was ? rattled me.
Oh, no... I hope his ovaries didn't suffer any permanent damage from that brutal shock wave moving through his body.
A pink .22-caliber rifle made just for kids, selling for $169, caught my eye.
Why doesn't that surprise me?

Comments are turned off. I wonder why?

Hahaha!
"...a high-powered, semiautomatic AR-15-style rifle..."
Deep shockwave passed through his body.
I love to see this character pop off a .375 H&H.
THAT is power.
Beside it, a Ruger 338 Lapua, effectively a civilian version of a long-range military sniper rifle, was mounted on a stout tripod ? yours for just $2,000. Other specialty rifles went for double that.
[hahhah-no]
Didn't we have a "reporter" do the same skit a couple of years a go? "It almost broke my shoulder!" [facepalm][fag][fags[fagpole]
Let's play with a medium load .45-70. [plant bomb]

He would probably piss himself if I told him I shot my first .44 Magnum revolver at age 11.

I almost peed myself listening to the report as it was read on the radio.
How about a Barrett M-82. He would have blacked out.

If he's that damaged after a 5.56 I'm not sure you'd have to make that much of a caliber jump to get him to black out...

What’s the opposite of a power bottom…?
Must have gone to the same journalism school as this pantywaist.

I wonder if you can get the sound the shooter makes for a ringtone.
Sometimes I have to engage the lockers and hold on when a restaurant trip doesn't sit well to avoid blasting off the can. Is that a power bottom?

I fault that range for allowing that goof to shoot like that, would've stopped the recording right then and there. Give some brief instruction and then let them record. If it continued just keep repeating over and over "you're unsafe, not following instruction" no other comments.
I always enjoy seeing new shooters try an AR for the first time and remark how light the recoil is when everything is done properly.

Likewise. At our range, we ask if it's their first time to our range, and what they're going to be shooting, today. If they say they're a new shooter, or it's a new gun. A RSO is there to assist . Until the shooter can show some a basic comprehension of the firearm, including safe handling.
The RSO of that range should have had a come to jesus talking to. By either the store manager, or owner.

I'm curious about what else that idiot wrote but don't want to give him more clicks. Sometimes these moronic articles are done just to get clicks and forwards.
Cue the video of a drill instructor doing a mag dump on an M16 with the buttshock against his testicles, to illustrate the almost total lack of recoil...

You must have went to Ft. Jackson for Basic in the 70s. That was standard for the DS’s to do when introducing the trainees to the M-16.
Journalism is dead.
Journalism was never a source of truth to begin with.

That explains your grouping. You always said it was “Dead Nuts”.
I fault that range for allowing that goof to shoot like that.
