House is over due. Typical mid size 4 bed 2 story suburbam home. Never had it done in my life and I'd it was a ranch house id do it myself.

This doesn't sound way costed would you say? Folks that did my immediate neighbor and looked good at least from my yard next door.

""Power wash, scrape, prime areas were needed, caulk and 3 colors $3975.00 super paint satin. Or we could go with duration top of the line paint $4200 ""

Sounds comparable to what mine was, 3bd 2ba.

Last year was $4200 using Sherwin Williams premium paint, and caulking the nails

I have a number to a guy that cheap but does good work, he quoted me to paint my house $2900 plus material so maybe another 1000-1200. We have two stories above ground. Pm if you want his info.

If we run into any problems we will, figure will buy kudo points from the neighbor using his friend or whatever.

$4200 is a good price. FYI Sherwins top product is Emerald.

I do commercial painting (warehouses, multifamily). If I had one of my crews paint a house and bought duration it wouldn’t be much less than what you were quoted. It seems like the residential crews of 2-3 guys are the sweet spot for efficiency/price.

That duration paint or like it is the way to go would agree? My had hers painted with it and it looks good.

That's cheap compared to what the insurance industry pays.

Gotta keep their rates up somehow

Duration is definitely good.

Just as with everything these days, Sherwin is dealing with major paint shortages. The Texas freeze combined with Covid has really hurt their supply chain. I’ve had to do some projects with whatever paint line I could get. Sometimes you can get your desired paint in one color but not another. Seems like darker colors are the hardest to find.

I was quoted $6K for my suburban 2 story. If you lived closer, I'd ask for your guy's number.

You've got it backwards. Contractors (and doctors, and body shops) charge more when they know insurance is involved.

My thoughts too.
Ramos Law, Frank Azar, and their advertising cousins really keep rates increasing.
Just think of the cost of tv advertising and the number of ads they are running.
Just gets reflected in the insurance rates.

Sorry - off topic.
Our insurance paid around 6,000 for 2 story with walk-out after our last hail storm about 3 years ago.
That was for the painting of the outside. The roof and windows were much more.

Just re-watched The Irishman. Robert De Niro played Frank Sheeran, he painted houses!

I just started doing the lower level of mine. Sherwin Williams Duration was $300 (on sale) for a five gallon bucket. Single gallons were very hard to find.
