Just an fyi if anyone lives near Buckley that the 140th Wing of COARNG is ramping night ops in preparation for an upcoming deployment-this does not violate opsec, publicly announced by CO National Guard on their fb page. Have a nice night.

The big boys out of Altus have night training one or two nights per week. I never tire of seeing the C-17s, KC-135s and KC-46s overhead. Only occasionally do I see a fighter around Altus. It's a treat.

People where I live near Southlands continuously bitch about air traffic noise and ask if the HOA can reroute them. Truly stupid people live among you.

It happens around Rocky Mtn Airport as well.
I only wish that someday an Airport Manager with nothing to lose tells them "Hey dumbass, YOUR the one who bought the house near the airport......"

Fort Carson will be conducting exercises until September 3. This is a typical schedule as training was delayed due to weather. As such these exercises usually include air support. Personally I would rather watch this than the Super Bowl.
The only thing better is watching Space Force launching satellites at Cape Canaveral.

My Dad forecasted that something was up when overnight cargo flights out of Buckley jumped by an order of magnitude- Operation Just Cause kicked-off a couple weeks later...

I was on the other end, listening to all of those flights coming in.

I live by Rocky Mountain airport. Approx 60 training flights a day coming and going. I’m used to it. A LOT of bitching from others in the community is common.

See any roadrunners, yet? Or the mystical scorpion.

All right, I'll be the bad airport neighbor...

Would it kill them to just take off, at takeoff speed, and then head out of town, before throwing on the afterburners/shaking down my house?

Yup just south of the base here as well. I am pretty sure the .gov is scheduling every flyover at the exact time of my conference calls.

I love hearing military jet thunder. Unless I am trying to sleep on an aircraft carrier.

I don't particularly mind the military jet thunder, but the cars all honking their alarms (including mine), I can do without.

Now, speeding through the flashy deals is one thing, but that military runway has been there longer than you have.

Yes, for sure, and I bought a home beneath the runway. (I think that I am out of the official noise space of Buckley)

But, can they not make some concessions too? If they can't and they are no longer able to achieve their mission, by making concessions, I will try and understand.

If they can make some concessions, and basically tone it down over the city, it would be appreciated.

At the same time, you are asking for concessions against conditions you bought in to.
If I bought a house next to a cattle feed lot, it's gonna smell like shit.

A couple speed traps might divert their traffic.

People probably wouldn't like Pueblo West either. The US Army fires artillery towards us and the house shakes and even the vinyl windows rattle. Plus the sound of large caliber guns, and other explosions can be heard at all hours. I think it would be better if they had live video, so I could watch it too. It would be more popular than professional sports and Vegas would make book on it. Professionals blowing up stuff, I mean come on!

I was 12 when we moved to Tucson. My dad used to take out to watch the U2s do "touch and goes", that was awesome. In college I shared a house with two roommates, one of whom was an airman, so we found a cheap house near the base (this was 1976-77). Lots of nights we could hear the planes taking off, loved the sound though I bet not everyone in the area did lol.

I'm just heartbroken that the whole national security and defense thing is causing you such mental anguish. Really... How awful it must be for you.

Being in the Air Force and and the various jobs can be hazardous to your health. However feel free to reach out if you see something wrong. You might save a life.
