That's good news.

I don't think it is. Chipman was an idiot, and a blowhard that didn't work well with others and made enemies wherever he went. Whomever they replace him with will have exactly the same ideology but now they will pick some bureaucractivist that is an effective leader and will get more done (and by more I mean more infringement on the 2A).

I've been arguing for some time that the 2A rights people should have backed off and let the reject from Dumb and Dumber get the job and then laugh at the (rhymes with Buster Duck) that he'd make of F-troop.

I get what you're saying but don't agree with it all. I do agree that Chipman is an idiot. But he doesn't have any friends anywhere and Tester and Manchin, both democrats, were so concerned about this guy's obvious anti-gun bias that I think they saw the writing on the wall. The guy was a huge liability for democrats. That's the last thing they need right now. Hell...even Angus King said he was worried about Chipman's track record.

I think it is good news. We all know there's another leftist ready to take his place. That's not in question. But when we can defeat the really hard core, anti-gun lefties, that's always a good thing.
