Probably going.

I might go because I live next door, and wonder how people can live off the grid, without being Amish, etc.

Come out here and take a trip to seligman, kingman, ash fork, or a few other places. Those folks are wayyyyyyyyyy off grid.
if anyone happens to go today, please consider a quick share about it.... I'm considering going, but am leaning on the side of the fence for not going.... but could be easily swayed if it's worthwhile.

Looking at the vendor list, it looks like it is more RV and camping than sustainability and prepping.
There is a gun show at the Douglas County Fairgrounds this weekend as well. One could probably hit both in one day.

My guess is it's a lot of vendors who really want to help you spend $50 - $100K on being "prepared".

And what better way to be prepared than with your own. Self contained RV with all the amenities of home, only on wheels. When the world takes a dump. do it in style.
BUY NOW and we'll include a 6" satellite dish.

If ya really wanted to see some off grid rigs you should have gone to the overland expo a few weeks ago in Loveland. Sweet Jeebuz there were some incredible vehicles there. Came with incredible price tags as well. The Earthroamer stuff was mind boggling and over a million dollars.

I was there. It got old real quick that most everything was the same thing. There should have been way more gear there I thought. I was glad to see Red Arc there though. I'm sure they'll be at this expo as well.

Overlanding
I used to call it camping. Throw a bag and some beer in the truck and go explore.
It has been turned into a thing. If you don't have a solar charger for your Ipad and satellite internet and $2000 roof top tent, you're not doing it right.
Sure an Earthroamer is sweet but I have had as much fun roaming the Earth on my old BMW 650 as I would have in a custom RV.

I had a VW Squareback when I got out of the service in 1970 - toured the country with a sleeping bag, Coleman Stove, and a cooler.
Of course, you weren't run off when you camped by the road and shot a rabbit or two back then.

I didn't. I'd just get depressed knowing I can't afford anything and didn't want to burn the cash to enter the show.

No, there really isn’t anything that I need… so decided to do some reloading instead.

Most of my climbing days were in a Mazda 323 packed with camping and. Liking gear. No special built, high dollar gear.
