Got a CDL and need a JOB?

Just posting this up from a community forum up in Conifer/Bailey in case someone needs work.

I have nothing to do with this company. But I know if I needed a job I'm not too proud to drive a truck...even a septic pump truck...for $35 bucks an hour. Plus a $1000 sign on bonus after a week? That's $72k a year before OT.

Search Septic is looking for a part-time or full-time CDL driver with the following:

1. Clean driving record
2. Tanker endorsement (we can help acquire)
3. Able to drive manual transmission
4. Lift 75 lbs or more
5. Familiar with mountain driving and local areas
6. Paid holidays
7. Commission pay

Pay for an experienced driver $35/hour. After 1 week on the job we will provide a
$1,000 bonus.

That is a decent amount. It's not near as gross as you might think. I jet sewer mains for a city every now and then. Lots of disposable gloves, not any worse than emptying a black water tank.

Not for this job, but I've wondered in general how hard some of the various common flavors of CDL are to get. Like local oilfield/other types of non long haul stuff. Still worried I might need a fallback from federal stuff as far as mandates go, though with a couple weeks of it being quiet I suspect we might be getting away without follow thru.

My company is always looking for CDL drivers. CDL isnt always big and long haul stuff. We just do local delivery to construction sites. CDL only required for us because sometimes the loads are heavy. We use smaller trucks with lift gates.

I think it's a hard job to fill because people don't like the early mornings.

Early mornings are the best. Get to be out on the roads before the morning rush and typically get off early enough in the day to beat the rush again and still have time in the day to take care of some personal stuff.

Definitely don?t understand those people who don?t like get up early. I went mountain biking with my son yesterday because he wanted to go early and his buddies can?t be bothered to get out of the house before noon on their days off.

Check the truck driving training schools.
It was 2 weeks when I went through for CDL Class A, and a lot of the others were getting their way paid by the larger trucking companies or educational opportunity grants
I added the Tanker endorsement by taking the written test
The Hazardous Materials endorsement takes a lot of time and costs due to background check - they recommend you have an employer pay for it

Yup, background and fingerprints, redo written hazmat test every four years.

Make sure you take your test with a manual. As of a few years ago, there is a difference. I didn't have access to a manual truck for the test , so I'm restricted. Not a big deal right now, all autos at the job. Silly.

I have a CDL B with airbrakes and passenger endorsement.
You can get the training books at the DMV.
