A friend of mine is working with a company that developing treatments for tinnitus (ringing in your ears). They need test subjects for a for a study. If you are one of the guys who couldn?t afford a suppressor, or earplugs or you just really liked loud music in your younger years, this could be a good thing for you.
Here?s a screenshot of the flyer.

Not ringing but EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Not ringing but EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Same here. No ringing. Just a constant, high pitched tone 24/7.
Yes I have a continual high pitched tone mostly prevalent in my left ear. The one ENT I went to said it was due to my deviated septum and he wanted to surgically correct it, uh nooo.
I will reach out, thanks.
I have this too. It is very annoying and sometimes you wonder how people survive with this for fifty years.
It only abates when she leaves to go shopping.

I will reach out, thanks.I have had same circumstance for 25-30 years. Been told several times need to fix deviated septum (surgically) before address tinnitus. My response has been same as yours.

I had deviated septum surgery in 2017. My nose still hurts like fuk. If I had known it would still be this painful, I would never have had it.
The tinitus in my right ear is loud enough the neighbors complain about the noise.

I dunno about tinitus, but I just wanna know why the cicadas are now going year round ... and how did they get in my house?
I have tinnitus. and what I try to do to help it, is make sure I don't have extra noise in my home life. No fans, or other "white noise."
I don't have tinnitus enough to seek treatment, but it is definitely there.

A lot of facetious responses.
I think Dr Julie Prutsman describes it best in her endless ads on tv.
I have a constant hiss in my right ear, along with about 85% hearing loss. The otologist wants to do a stapedectomy and replace my stapes with a prosthesis. This apparently stems from flying with an ear infection back in about 1993...

Weird. Background noise sort of drowns out my ringing. Any time there?s silence the persistent high pitched whine just about drives me mad.
I probably have it less than you, and am trying to minimize it, by making sure I have a quiet environment when I can.
I barely notice it, during regular day to day life, it is only when it is quiet, that I notice it. Yours may be much more severe, I do not know.

Of course I have the same going on as I read this thread :P At least it's not 24/7, just occasionally while I sit at my machine.

Nice!
Is the test an attempt to slip the vaccine into more people? Lol

I have it bad. I believe it's starting to cause sleeplessness, headaches and occasional vertigo/dizziness. VA doc is fitting me for hearing aids next week because the ringing is so loud I can't hear anything. The VA ENT says the hearing aids may help the tinnitus, too. I sure hope so because it's miserable. Mine started back in the mid 80s when I was still in the AF and listening thru headsets to static that was loud enough to be painful for 8 to 10 hours a day.

Says in one ear and early onset. Think that would eliminate most people as you don?t seem to notice it creeping up on you.

The sound I hear in both ears is somewhat like BP described.
But more similar to walking down the TV isle of a discount Dept. such as TG&Y or such during the 1960?s and early 1970?s where they had 20 - 30 cheap import tube TVs (before IC circuits) turned on and the volume turned off. There was a very high pitched, almost inaudible electronic sonic pressure emitting from all those TVs. If it were just one or two on you wouldn?t notice it, but with all the sets on at once it was definitely noticeable.
I get a loud ones once in a while before I fall asleep.
There are endless videos on the net that work on masking the sound. The one I've found most effective, though strictly a short term thing, is called "cozy cabin on rainy day in tropical forest". I play it on my cell using the earbuds at a comfortable level. For me it's much more pronounced in my left ear than right. I too try to keep extraneous noise at a minimum when home. It typically becomes most noticeable after 7pm or so. I'm able to function fine during the day with exposure to "normal world sounds". I don't drive with my window down, I wear plugs when I ride the motorcycle, have always worn ear protection when shooting (for the past 20 or so years I double up with plugs and muffs when inside). I did have an unprotected experience a looong time ago but that's for another time.
The funny thing about the deviated septum diagnosis is that I had a deviated septum when I was young. In my mid 20s (roughly 40 years ago) I broke my nose playing softball and the ENT took care of it when he mostly straightened out my nose lol. I don't have any symptoms typical of a ds so that led to me being skeptical of the diagnosis. Amazingly my hearing is still very much in the normal range.....for someone of my age LOL.

I?ve got it in my left ear, .357 magnum fired close to a barn wall did it years ago, it has never stopped. At least the groundhog didn?t survive 😁
My tinnitus got noticeably worse after my stupid ass reached over and set off a oxy-acetelyne balloon without ears
Oh God yes I have it - terribly. But I've had it so long I just tend to ignore it now, it's just normal. But the lower back pain is FAR worse.....
