just bought an AR1522 and wondering what distance to zero at? I know some of it is ammo dependent. I?m using it for AR ?training? so it seems that I would want it to be a bit low at 25 yards and approaching being ?on? at 50 yards like my 223 zero to get the same hold practice etc. Is that even feasible with 22? Any guidance appreciated!

The only real value on a .22lr AR is CQB style stuff. Just zero so your offset mirrors your regular AR.

For what you described, yes - 50yd (battle) zero will do you fine imo. Issues you might have are calling hits @ longer distances on steel.

You should come out & shoot the Big Ben Tactical Match @ Ben Lomond Gun Club sometime. We've even added a .22 division this year. Register twice (different divisions, same squad) & shoot both your rimfire & centerfire on the same CoF. Might help you sort some of your training practices & you'll have fun regardless. Cheers.

Chick, exactly what I want to do! I guess I just need to go shoot it as I’m not sure if I zero it at 50, what the drop will be closer in.

Honestly, in my experience with a good zero @ 50yds & in it won't matter all that much on a ipsc a zone if you're just looking to make contact. That's not to say that knowing your specific holds for varying distances isn't worthwhile though. Depends on what you're trying to accomplish.
