After all, the Constitution is an outdated document and all that nonsense...

This won't stay isolated to small (population) counties in CO.
If this doesn't get challenged and taken to court, this kind of shit will get adopted in every county in the blue stripe in CO.
"Emergency" = Pandemic with folks who won't take a useless shot? Sure why not... Now the newly made, self appointed, dictato... I mean chairman can take away your food, water, and shelter because you dare to disagree with them. No warrant or due process required.
I like reading about the fall of empires, not living it.
It's a lot of unnecessary words.
"We make the rules, so we can do whatever the fuck we want, signed, your lords" would save a lot of time and pages in reading it.

I've always known the old adage though... "nothing lasts forever".
Seeing historical world maps on high speed is eye opening for how impossible it is for human geographic boundaries to last more than a couple dozen generations. Anywhere. Even if we make it through this, it'll be our kids or grandkids at the most.

Come on guys, it's only if there's an emergency

100% agreed.

I know this is tongue in cheek, but it's scary how many people legitimately believe that rationalization.
'Cause, ya know, it's a "pandemic" and we're getting into "cold and flu" season, sounds like an emergency to most dem's... Especially if it means they can enforce their will/vision on more people.
[facepalm]
It sounds more like they've appointed a King rather than an "County Emergency Manager". I can't imagine this won't be challenged quickly.

It was my understanding that the Vitter Amendment specifically prohibited a governmental institution from confiscating firearms during an emergency or natural disaster.
Of course, it was also my understanding that SCOTUS had severely limited the use of warrantless entry/searches/seizures. But that was before our governmental institutions got all woke and shit.
Saguache county is a little surprising, I always thought of that area as being pretty right on the political spectrum.

Crestone and Saguache vs the county.
Is this a case of unelected officials creating this situation?
Sounds like elected officials put an unelected puppet in charge

County Commissioners are elected.
Unsure of how the chairman is appointed. My quick results search-fu failed.
Not hard to sway the vote in this county:
With fewer than two people per square mile, Saguache County is considered a “Frontier County.” Almost 74% of the land is public
