Stealing all his toys and then lying about their values.

And so it begins.
(I hope his dog is ok)

Assuming the website they won't link is the 'other' site?

So what are the details here?

Now youtubers has to disclose where they borrow those rare and/or class 3 firearms on a video to cover their own @ss?

Bio from Wikipedia below. Maybe he leaked some information about DELTA FORCE? The FED's will use a bullshit charge to intimidate, coerce, extort, etc. a person they want control of or use to their advantage. The "Official Notification" seems vague and ambiguous. How come no arrest warrant? If the USG disposes of the seized items, does that also mean they eliminated evidence? When ATF comes to mind, I always think of Waco, Branch Davidians. People being burnt alive in their own place of worship...

I see they valued everything at a generic $1000.00. Guess that's so they don't have to pay but a fraction of the true value when they destroy the guns and they have to come up with reparations after he finally (and expensively) proves his innocence.

I found the listed values quite interesting as well. I know many of those items are actually worth $10k+.

Interesting pdf doc. Larry Vickers appears in multiple sections throughout the doc (apparently different code section violations). Others with a large number of seizures have arms that are described the same with wildly differing values within the same seizure. Some even show a seizure of a SINGLE ROUND OF AMMO.

Who is he? I have never heard of him. I see he was Army, does training and sells books.

Why does he have hundreds of "machine guns" most of which are not identified?

What are the charges to lead to forfeiture?

Is he a dealer or a gunsmith? Someone fill in the blanks for me.

He's retired Delta force, now owns Vickers Tactical and was one of the founders of IDPA. He's also a prolific author of "gun books" (often his books are considered "the" book on whatever subject). He also consults with a lot of gun manufacturers (including having a lot of input on the HK416). He also invented the "Vickers Sling" which is one of the more popular AR slings out there.

The rumors I'm hearing is that because he's busy dying of cancer, he's let his SOT lapse and that's why the guns on the list are only $1000 (because they're all post sample, and AFT is letting him keep his transferable stuff).

His collection is (well now was) considered one of the premier reference collections of machine guns and other interesting firearms.

Weird. Feels like we?re missing some details. Were these seizures related to some sort of tax delinquency? Tax delinquency at some level other than the $200 NFA taxes on the items seized?

My opinion. Alphabet agency needs these items now! Eminent domain tactics used to "obtain" needed merchandise. Owner of items has right to "appeal & mitigation" within time frame specified by law & regulation. Plausible deniability is preserved. Typical disclaimer notice applies.

e.

I don't know, Mr ATF. Does he owe you some sort of explanation?

We are all speculating, do I would like to throw my theory.

He has many firearms which are rare, limited and perhaps non imported to US.
as people know, youtubers borrow many od the firearms and classic from people to film many footages.

^They need that shit to rescue the valued assets they left behind in the quick egress from the third world country where the infamous terrorist was not to be found.

Letting his SOT expire just doesn't seem like something Larry would do. Especially to preserve such a rare and amazing collection of firearms. I'm surprised Dragon Man isn't chomping at the bit to get a hold of these if he can. I would certainly like to see Larry's collection remain intact if possible. I know he's been battling cancer and I wasn't sure how well he has or hasn't been doing. Doesn't surprise me the Bureau of Agents Trampling Freedom Everywhere were quick to swoop in and collect the firearms.

Obviously he owes me nothing.

I was asking questions about what may have caused this action by the ATF.

What is an SOT?
[Copied from the internet]
An SOT is a Special Occupational Taxpayer. That?s government speak for ?somebody who does things we don?t like but everyone else loves, so we are going to tax and license them for it.?
SOT is really a status. That?s why it is technically incorrect to call an SOT a license, or refer to a ?Class 3 license?. With an SOT all you are really doing is taking an existing Federal Firearms License, and adding a special occupational class and tax to it ? that of somebody who works with NFA items on a commercial level. An Special Occupational Taxpayers is something you get with certain FFL?s in order to engage in different forms of business involving NFA items.?

Cancer is a bitch. Even if he wouldn't normally let that happen, you have to let a lot of stuff go when your body is letting go.

His stuff shouldn't have been seized, but estate planning is also very important. What happens to your SOT stuff if you get into a car accident, etc? In many ways, I suspect that is the root fail here, he was rich enough and famous enough that he should have had real contingency plans and a book of "how to not f it all up" available for his family.

Chemo brain is a thing. Whether or not it played a role in what is unfolding, I do not know. But I know my sympathies align with Vickers.

Hope Uncle Larry pulls through. Reminder that the AFT should NOT have lists of us...we should have lists of them.

FWIW........ and I know nothing about any of this but............

I've noticed ALOT of cool items being sold on GB right now and they (the Sellers) say they are from the "Vickers Collection."
So, maybe, whatever is goin on, he/they are being allowed to sell the collection off and not simply being seized and destroyed.
