View Full Version : Hug your pups tonight...

I helped with something pretty awful today. Think concentration camp for dogs. I assisted a local animal rescue in removing almost 100 dogs from a hoarder's compound. It was heartbreaking.

So give your pups a hug and a treat. They deserve it for being our friends and companions.

How the hell can anyone be cruel to dogs?

Ours are spoiled like crazy and sleeping in bed with us as I type this. They weigh about 35lbs combined and somehow take up more room than me and I go about 275lbs. Not sure how that math plays out.

Good to hear you helped out with what sounds like a terrible situation. Those hoarder situations are not for the faint of heart or the weak of stomach. Not sure where you are but if you come across something like that again and need a hand I'm down to help out animals whenever I get a chance.

I'm of the opinion that a dog is God's most noble creature.

Sure, sometimes they smell, sometimes they want out when you don't feel like getting out of bed, and they tend to think the trash can and cat litter box are vending machines, but a dog would willingly fight a rabid tyranosaurus rex to protect you..

Some folks believe that God decided to let the devil have control of the earth. They believe that is why so many terrible things happen. I always thought, if that is true, then that is why God gave us dogs. Having a good dog at your side evens things out a bit in that situation..

Rondog...that second picture is killer!

I love my dogs like my own kids. And I agree...I'm glad God thought enough of us to give us dogs.

People, on the other hand, for the most part just suck.

Ron that second picture looks straight off of a Hallmark card. One of those ones where you have to write your own words in it.

I've often wondered how our 2 Shihtzus can completely occupy a king sized bed.... [Eek3]

You know, my dog doesn't argue with me, he doesn't complain when I feed him the same thing day after day (or mind when I 'accidentally' drop an occasional tidbit or pizza slice for him), he doesn't bark when he doesn't need to (Wish my daughter's was like that), and he's always glad to see me. He doesn't ask for anything but a little attention. Of course, his bed apparently isn't soft or warm enough about 3/4 of the time, but OURS is...... but I still can't complain.

My wife's take on it - Where does a 76 pound pit bull mix sleep? Wherever he wants to... (As long as she sticks her cold feet under him and NOT UNDER ME, I'm good with it!)

So as I see it my dog is better behaved than my kids! As far as I'm concerned, he is one. I've had him longer. And I could no sooner do anything to hurt or neglect him than one of my kids. And I truly don't understand people who do (to either!!). I think a little dose of their own medicine might get through to people like that...

Hey Bailey, can you legally own a wolf within city limits?

This sums it up pretty good. Mrs. Birddog and I don't have children; our dogs are our kids. I tend to hold dogs in higher regard than I do humans; you don't see dogs killing eachother for a pair of tennis shoes, or because their religions are different, or...I could go on for some time.

Dogs have let me down far fewer times than humans have.

Thanks! Coco was still pretty new there, and she'd adopted Annie as her "surrogate mother" right away. Coco's mama looked a LOT like Annie, and Coco took to her right off, and they've been tight ever since. Annie wasn't too thrilled about having a puppy in the house at first, but they're inseparable now.

But, sometimes I wonder about 'em.....

I'd like to stomp those asshole's faces teeth first into a parking pylon for what they've done to those dogs. My dogs are spolied effing rotten, especially the chihuahua! They go everywhere with us (yes all 4 of them) and sadly, my 14 year old Aussie is about to give up the ghost, I don't know how much longer she'll be around.

Here's some pics of my fur children
Stevie, my 6 year old Border Collie

Peanut Butter (center) my Japanese Akita/Shepherd mix, and Brandy DogChow Underfoot (don't laugh, that's actually the name on her pedigree) We just call her Brandy, lol.

Does it count that I hugged my co-workers 2 French Bulldogs today?

I don't have a dog anymore, just 2 cats (one that thinks he's a dog) so I have to hug someone else's.

Just read in the paper about 100 sled dogs found starving and rescued from a sled racing outfit in Hartsel. WTF is wrong with people?

Ya know it really makes me sick to hear stories like this.......

Today, coming down from WP we seen 3-4 Park Sheriff trucks all had "We love Huskies & Husky mixes" written on the dirty windows. That was awesome!

Here are my two....Ada & Kwynn
