Postal worker shot, killed in Longmont neighborhood
LONGMONT, Colo. — Police in Longmont are investigating after a postal worker was shot and killed in front of neighborhood mailboxes Wednesday. The shooter remains at large.
The shooting happened around 12:30 p.m. at Heatherhill Street and Renaissance Drive.
Police said a male suspect was seen fleeing the area south on Renaissance Drive. The suspect was wearing dark clothing, a hoodie and blue mask.

This ain't the hood- very upscale new construction area in SW Longmont. I drive by it frequently on the way to my parent's place off Mountain View.
My first guess is a love triangle, or some other form of hit, with the location of the deed simply dictated by the deceased's mail route, but who knows?
F****r probably kept leaving the mailbox open after he put the mail in the box.
Mine was doing that for a while and he?s lucky he didn?t get shot.
(Sorry. Not trying to make lite of a tragedy. Maybe he was delivering his package to a stay at home housewife.)

Gang initiation? It is federal worker, maybe we can get a death penalty conviction?
Maybe he wasn?t wearing a mask and someone got triggered?

Why are people jumping, beating, curb stomping and pushing random people into subway trains in NYC on a daily basis these days?
Why are people cold clocking random pedestrians in big cities all over the country?
Why are people robbing stores blind in broad daylight?
Why are people walking up and murdering cops sitting in their cars?
Because of years worth of "defund the police" and dem refusal to punish criminals.

Didn't uprising in the book 'Unintended Consequences' start with killing low-level gov't workers? It's been a long time since I've read it.
Regardless, it's a pretty sad day when a person can't even deliver mail without getting shot. I don't have a good feeling about our future.

Colorado's last known lynching took place in Pueblo on Saturday, September 13, 1919. Two thugs shot a police officer. Mob showed up at city jail and hung them from 14th Street bridge. I bet criminal activity dropped after that.
Too much junk mail? [Dunno]
In all seriousness, it sucks that this postal worker will not be going home tonight.
Do we know whether the mail carrier was male or female? Domestic situation (which have been on the rise btw)? Sounded like the cops had some leads they are working on, hope so.
Someone read the thread griping about USPS shipping?
Ex-girlfriend of the mail carrier arrested for his murder.

Just read it this morning. Sheesh.

I suspect this will die quickly- wrong demographics.
If the shooting suspect was a well-to-do 60 year old white guy in a MAGA hat, there would be 100% wall-to-wall MSM coverage.
Long term issues, he had filed for a restraining order against the perp in the past. There was a 2018 case in court over child custody as well.

Certainly not compared to James Holmes coverage.

Somehow in this case, I doubt there will be many candlelight vigils with self-anointed domestic violence experts and progressive leadership pontificating about the vileness of the act.
Maybe I am just too cynical.
Damn. His boss arrived on scene and immediately knew who did it.
This event was captured on a Ring Video.

So he wanted to take the child away from its mother, and she shot him in the face.

Mothers can be unsuitable parents too

Statistically more likely to be the child abuser. #truefacts

She had a restraining order against him in 2016.
She had a restraining order against him in 2016.
ROs are easy to obtain by women against men.
She proved to be unstable when she was released from employment due to an incident with him at work, then SHOT HIM
He attempted to get one against her, it was denied-not uncommon then, slightly less so today. At their latest court session she exhibited "unstable" behavior. More of the same at work hence leading to her not working there any longer. 00tec has it covered.
You can tell the labor crisis is fucked up when she got fired from USPS Longmont for cause, then got a job within 2 weeks at USPS Loveland
Somewhat related. Woman used department issued NYPD Glock 19 to try to kill her ex-girlfriend and did kill her ex's new bae(be).
https://news.yahoo.com/decorated-nypd-officer-charged-murder-202237334.html "Possessive" in her relationships. But "decorated" officer.
Glad those psych screens screen all the nutjobs from working in the departments *cough*.

There is an account down around South Park around the 1880's of ranchers getting fed up with a crooked judge and they dealt with him.

That was in Granite. It was a gold mining town. The gold mine was shut down due to silting of the Arkansas River. The mud washed down the river and damaged farm irrigation systems. This type of mining was depicted in "Pale Rider" starring Clint Eastwood.
Judge Dyer was shot in his own courtroom.

Interesting...
LONGMONT, Colo. - A correctional officer at a federal prison has been arrested and is facing charges in connection with the killing of Longmont postal worker last week.
Boulder County Jail records show that Andrew James Ritchie was arrested Tuesday and is being held on charges of first-degree murder and complicity.
The Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) in Englewood confirmed that Ritchie has been employed as correctional officer there since 2016.

I read the indictment, 23 pages long. The guy was in a relationship with the shooter. Kept changing his story and timeline during questioning by postal inspectors and the cops. Charged with Complicity, Murder in the First Degree. Claims to have warned the victim earlier in the day in which he was killed. Also claims to have tried to talk the perp out of it, yet never notified any of the authorities about what she said she was going to do.
