View Full Version : How Many More Do You Need?

I finally purchased the CZ I have been looking at.
It got me to thinking about the next one... and the one after that.
I started re-examining the list and, boy, is it long.
I need a .45. I actually need two, a 1911 and a single action revolver.
I need a 4" .357, or maybe a 3".
I need a big rifle, probably a .375 H&H.
I need another .30-30. Or two.
I need a Wilson Combat 1911. In .45. And 9mm. And one of his Berettas.
I absolutely need a 10/22 left hand.
And on and on it goes.
How many more do you need?

The list is too long of what I "need"

Need, or want?
Hell, I have at least 5 in the build process in just the AR platform. Each serves its own purpose.
And EBRs reproduce in the dark. Twice now, the same barrel I bought several years ago has started a build. It is still unfired, as I picked different barrels
Need, or want?
It all depends on how your brains wired. [Coffee]
And I have a problem. I need more room [facepalm]

I ask myself this question every time I look at something new. Sad reality is I want but would likely not use very often. A lot of money for something to gather dust along with the ammo and reloading stuff.
Helps keep me from at least getting new cartridges to stock up :)

"At least one more..."
Yep, that's the answer. Ask me again after I get one more, and the answer is still "one more".

I think I'm done unless something really cool presents itself......or I win the lottery. If that happens, game on.

That's about as close as I could estimate...

Yeah, this is kind of where I am, too. Hell I have two shotguns in the safe. I don't think I've pulled the trigger on one of my shotguns since maybe 2005.
Supply and demand is a funny thing. There are guns I'd like to sell but I know I couldn't get much for them. Common sense says even a small(er) amount of usable cash is more beneficial than an item I'll likely never use, and yet, it's tough to sell something that I "Think" is worth $x for much, much less. So back into the safe it goes.
I think all the various "runs" and "panics" over the years made people overstock on hardware and that right now there's a real glut on the market. At least that's the way it seems to me but then again I've gotten to the point where I buy maybe one gun a year, if that. In fact, I don't think I've bought one at all this year and the year's almost over.

If I won the lottery, I'd take a van straight to Turnbull's and load it up!

I don't think I'm done but not much appeals to me. Before the Wuhan, I had my eyes out for a Chiappa Rhino. Something in the 3 inch barrel size. Last time I looked, those had almost doubled in price. I saw the "Let's Go Brandon!" lower Gman posted a picture of yesterday (Legislation and Politics # 134). I don't have plans for another AR-15 but a stripped lower is a good thing to have around.

Oh man...it never, ever ends. I'm currently in the "I need another precision rifle I can also use for hunting that's somehow different than my other precision riles" camp at the moment along with "I need a big bore revolver for some reason" camp, it just never ends.
My safes are full...like FULL, so I will need to sell or trade to acquire another, but that's part of the fun.
Someone with a low mileage Bergara B-14 HMR needs to come over and trade me for something they need.

I’ve got most of my easily attainable must-have stuff. There’s always more.
If a lot is good, too much is just right.
I know I need a real looking, stealth AOW Pen Gun.

Frankly, nothing. I know what I like to shoot, I know how often I get to shoot, and I know how long I get to shoot, and what I have right now covers those needs. I've been selling off handguns to friends that don't have one this year, and have one or two more to get rid of.
I had a small list, I only wanted 3 guns at the start of the year. I got all 3 of them, plus another I forgot I wanted, within the first 4 months of the year.

no love for blackpowder?
I like the "build your own" muskets or pistols.
Don't forget C&R's, the "oh nice" stuff :P
