Anybody been to the Meow Wolf Experience in Denver? Thoughts? Pro tips? Is it a good experience for 7-10 year olds?

It's a sensory overload in a fun way. The best advice I can give is to take your time and try to keep your bearings so you see everything. Touch everything and go in every door you can.
If the kids know not to run off everyone will have a good time. It can be difficult to navigate the place and hard to find someone if you get split up.
No matter when you go it's probably going to be at capacity so don't overthink your day and time. I made that mistake at the Santa Fe one and wasted a couple vacation days. The parking lot isn't very big so if you're not in one of the first groups of the day I'm not sure I'd bother and go straight to one of their overflow lots. Light rail also works. Some more forum-specific tips would be to read their security policy about bags and such. Everyone needs a mask. Frankly bring some hand sanitizer since crowds and touching things is kinda the point.
I went to a preview day and we didn't get these cards that let you interact with a bunch of screens. Make sure you don't miss picking those up before you start.

Looks like Casa Bonita if you're on acid.

Looks like a really cool place. 45$ for a ticket seems real pricey.

Buy tickets early. The “better half” loves MW.

Thanks guys. Hand sanitizer and Fanny pack advice is exactly what I needed :D
Got tickets for Thursday. I’ll post a pic or two if I can.

When I looked it was only $35 for CO residents.
Ccw allowed?
Nope. Metal detectors before entry.
I got a preview right before it opened to the public-homie hookup lol, loved it! I have also been to the one in Santa Fe. Definitely worth a visit, as Fromk mentioned you go through metal detectors prior to entry and they were doing timed entries of every 20 minutes according to my son who went a couple of weeks ago.
My wife and I visited the one in Santa Fe in December 2019. My daughter and SIL were travelling with us and wanted us to go with them. After the visit, my wife and I agreed that it was a complete waste of time. Many of the rooms were filled with kitchy presentations, junk furniture, and crap that I'd seen before at college students' art shows from the 1970s. Many of the interactive exhibits did not work. Maybe 20% of the presentations were worth a look. The architecture of the various rooms not the content, interested me. I guess my wife and I are too left-brained for that sort of thing.

Meow Wolf did an indoor ride at Elich Gardens in the style of their building in Denver. I rode it with my kids and I was seriously disappointed. It seemed garish and thrown together. I was hoping to hear that that the Denver site was much much better. Unfortunately, all the pictures I've seen of the Denver site looked like more of the same stuff. Remember the college dorm room black light posters depicting anthropomorphic bugs smoking a hookah in a field of mushrooms? Now imagine that shitty "art" in 3D, and it goes on forever. The neon and pastel pallette never changes, and like most modern art there is a lot of artistic vision but not as much artistic skill.
I kinda think it was spearheaded in Denver by a group of investors thinking, "Stoners come to Denver like its Weed Mecca, so this could be like a the High Temple! Stoners around the country will plan their pilgrimage!".

We're in Denver now and I was thinking about going but your good description makes me realize that I have better things to do. Thanks, it helped pay for a nice steak and lobster dinner out tonight.

Best description yet.
Our teenagers really enjoyed it. If you or your kids are into SciFi or art then I think it is worth it. Lots of Lovecraft/Alien/BladeRunner inspired works.

Late follow up on this… it was an interesting experience to be sure. Neat thing to wander through once. I wouldn’t ever go back though. I’m sure the whole thing would be better when mixed with drugs, especially something hallucinogenic or psychedelic. Lots of trippy colors and odd “art”. Kind of reminded me of the city streets in Idiocracy or Blade Runner, and there are some Easter eggs and riddles to solve if you have the time, but it really was like being in an alternate reality in some ways.

Went with the family tonight. Not too crowded, which made it tolerable.
Most of it is just Dr. Suess on an acid trip, plus some cool visual effects in certain rooms.
I give it a B- for the experience.
I love how I had to lock my carry piece in the car as a watched the guy adjust his blanket and shopping cart fort just outside the parking lot.
Oh how I enjoy New Colorado!

Seems like glow in dark mini golf is cheaper and more fun.
Also skip the stupid Van Gogh "experience", complete waste of money and time. It reminded me of the Leonardo Da Vinci screen saver in Windows 95, only projected on the walls and floor of two large rooms. No metal detectors, though.
