Propublica is left leaning so it is interesting they spent so much time on Polis' shady techniques.

Not surprising the very wealthy spend such time and effort to keep their fortunes. Also not surprising is politicians are oily liars, putting their interests above the people's.

I detest Polis.

This article doesn't appear to demonstrate he did anything wrong.

And, in case you missed it, I detest Polis.

There can be a difference between doing "anything wrong" and doing anything illegal. In this case, Polis is, as we all know, a hypocrite.

Most people consider it wrong to be a hypocrite.

It's completely ethical to pay absolutely only the required minimum amount of taxes allowed for by law. Then, if someone should choose to, they can pay additional by choice.

Agreed. However, if one engages in "rules for thee and not for me" and "thee" = millions of hardworking Americans and "me" = someone who is constantly wanting to see others' money taken and given away to government, I kinda wanna see them burn.

And I don't even believe income tax is actually constitutional.

We agree on this.

Jared Polis is a complete douchenozzle for a multitude of reasons, but hiring the right tax professionals is not one of them.

I agree with all the above character reference. That said, a good tax attorney is a good thing to have.

If only the rest of us could afford to hire one like our political elite can.

As Americans, it is our duty to pay as little as possible. The government hog is fat enough.

[sarcasm] Oh, I think we can squeeze in a few more pounds of pork here and there.....

The issue is him being a hypocrite about it. He was on the House floor demanding Trump release his tax records and then declined to release his own during his gubernatorial run.
