Good trigger discipline!
About a month ago on some self defense channel posted a video someone hosing down three attackers with gas as they piled out of their minivan to attack him.
They skedaddled.
I made a mental note that it's an excellent move.

Ps. Yhea, I know the show "Justified" did it too, but this was a real case. The guy hosed down the interior of their minivan through the open sliding door as they left, too.
Muzzle flash and gas fumes could get interesting.

Depends where you are and whose around. Maybe not full-on wise, but I wouldn't call it foolish either.
There's a lot of video out there showing nice young gentleman knocking people out at gas stations for fun, then posing with them on the ground for a selfie.

I saw that, too. I recall thinking, "I hope someone in the minivan is smoking!"

Inspired by Billy Jack in the 70's hosing down the bad guy's trike with gas and pulling out a lighter?

I'm sure it's safe.
They took the cell phone stickers off the pumps recently.
The other day, I watched some character smoking as he filled his truck. He stepped away and flicked his butt across the island into the adjacent lot. I stopped and and said, "you dropped something." He muttered in my direction and crawled back into his home. Pretty sure he never even saw me.

Kind of why I like pocket carry with a MP compact. Hand on the gun in my pocket, but still concealed.

In SD in the 80's I sported a 4" model 29 in a shoulder holster, then went to a Colt DE 10mm with a .380 AMT Backup
Someone was always getting sporty at the local stop and robs in nasty city
