Left as in left-handed.......come on guys

Sorry I couldn't find a PPC sub-section so I'm posting this here.

I have the itch for something new and am looking at a few different 9mm carbines that I would eventually SBR. The big quirk is that I'm left handed and left eye dominant. I've narrowed my list down to a few items and I'm wondering if anyone here has had experience with these weapons. Also, I'd love for any fellow southpaws to chime in. Especially when it comes to brass ejection and gas to the face.

MP5
You can't deny it's a classic. I'm looking at the PTR variant. HK pattern parts are pricey but with the PTR you don't have to worry about 922r and reviews are positive. At a minimum I would have to replace the safety selector.

B&T GHM9
Handled one at my local range and it seems very well made. Controls are ambidextrous out of the box and you can swap the charging handle. From what I've read they seal gas pretty well and are soft shooting.

KP9
I've liked the AK platform in the past and found the control relatively easy as a lefty. Again this one is US made so 922r does not apply. Ian from Forgotten Weapons has fired this one and he didn't seem to hate it.

Things not on the list
- CZ Scorpion - Every time I handle one it just feels chunky to me.

- Beretta CX4 - Can be swapped to left handed ejection but you can't swap the stock without sending it to Sierra Papa (I've handled one and I would need a longer stock). Lack of replacement parts makes me worry about 922r.

- AR Pattern - Yes I know. But I have so many AR's I just feel the need to do something different.

Being a lefty:
Skip the right hand charging handle. Looks good until brass hits your face.

Saw some fun lefty toys in AZ. Maybe Kazoo can elaborate.

I love my MP5 clone. I'm right handed. But there is something to be said about the classic. No issues at all with the after market KCI mags, I have 7 of them and all run flawlessly. It runs self defense ammo and suppressed very nicely. I don't have any lefty friends that have tried it to say if they like it. I have the PTR version which I give my seal of approval and comes a little modernized with MLOK holes and a top rail. Lots of reviews give it the thumbs up.

They are expensive, heavy, and like the 1911, iconic and I feel a must have. If taken care of very reliable.

Superior handed here.

I’m currently running a CZ Scorpion and Foxtrot Mike FM9, which are two you have ruled out. The Scorpion is hands down my favorite by far so I’d suggest at least shooting one before you throw it out. Next on my list is a Stribog so that may be something for you to look into.

You left out the ruger pcc. Both in kinda ranch rifle style or Pistol charger. They have binary triggers available as well.

What about Just Right Carbines, they are ambidextrous. The magazine release is not, though.

I despise PCC’s. If you want to shoot a handgun caliber, buy a handgun- if you want to shoulder a weapon buy a rifle. To me a PCC is a solution in search of a problem.
That being said if I was wanting to go that route I would go with a B&T 1st choice or an actual HK, Dakota Tactical, Zenith or worst case POF MP5 keeping in mind the 2 latter will probably need tweaking.
A Marlin Camp 9 is not awful although mags and parts availability can be a issue.
The Rugers, CZ’s and AR platforms I have dealt with just beat themselves to death.
I will give you Ruger owners a hint- disassemble your weapon and LocTite every threaded fastener.

JRC carbine, works great, good customer service AND................... outside the proprietary receivers. Uses Ar furniture and fcg. OH another plus is they make caliber conversions where you can go from a 9mm to 45acp with another barrel, magwell and bcg.

I sold my Turkish MP5K clone in favor of an APC9 Pro that takes Glock mags. Controls are fully ambi, reliability is 100%, and the ergos aren't frustrating like the MP5.

When I sold the MP5K it felt like breaking up from a bad relationship, everything that frustrated me just came boiling out. The APC9 is so much nicer. People like to wax poetic about the recoil being so much smoother on the MP5 series, but I can't really tell a difference.

Ended up picking up a 9mm CX4 carbine that takes 92FS magazines. It's nice not to worry about proprietary magazines. I'll take it to the range next week.

Barrel length?

16in barrel. However with the magazine inserted through the grip it handles like a smaller weapon.
