View Full Version : Best club to belong to within reasonable driving distance to Denver
Is CRC still the best place close to Denver with outdoor shooting bays where you can practice the stuff that you learn in your tactical handgun and carbine classes?
Sucks to take classes and then be limited at local ranges to not being able to draw from a holster, practice mag changes, rapid fire or rifle to handgun transitions and so on.
Golden Gun Club.

You are the range officer.

rifle to handgun transitions and so on.
try that at the golden gun club and and let us know how it works out
I guess you are a competitor of the Golden Gun Club?
As I said, when you are at the Golden Gun Club, you are the range officer.

Looking at the golden gun club website I only see one shooting bay, everything else is shooting from fixed/designated positions?

They have many lanes out there, however, I have never attended.
I drive by there all the time. IMO, I would hate to be the landowners to the north. No idea on what occurs there

The old location was nice.
Ben Lomond is awesome, but membership is full right now, not taking new members.

But you can always join the waitlist (top right corner of site linked to below). If you don't signup, you'll never be a member...

Assuming "the people's republic" in your profile means Boulder, the Northern Colorado Rod and Gun Club in Laporte might be an option for you
Or, what about the Boulder Gun Club?
Boulder rifle club has something like a 5-8 year waitlist, also they don't really have any pistol/rifle bays, just ranges with designated and covered shooting benches.. If I had just signed up when I moved here I would have been a member a decade ago.

Empire gun club....... hands down. I am a member there and shoot there about 3to4 times a month. As well as night shooting with nods and white light. If you are a competent gun handler you can use it to train. I use it to train for USPSA, tac rifle and 2 gun. Its an awesome place and in about a week or so the 400 yard bay should open up, which is even better. Its 59 mins from my doorstep in Denver to the range. It has recently hosted Warrior Poet Society and other great training classes. Check it out and let the owner(Kyle) know that Matt T sent ya! See ya out there!
They are currently accepting new members for 2022 also!

GGC is a great place to shoot.
I have been a member for years and shoot 50-550yds weekly.
However, there are no bays, just designated shooting benches.
If a move and shoot deal is what you are looking for, definitively BLGC or Lead Valley.

How about looking NE. Weld Cty fish & wildlife. Also known as the Galeton Range has numerous shooting bays. The first one on the line is the R.O, we were members there for 25 yrs, till we moved.
