I just saw a review of it on TV (I was too lazy to press the button on the remote to change the channel ~ how pitiful is that?).
The reviewers LOVED the movie and I have to say, based on the clips they showed, I think I'll like it too.

Plot line is a bit predictable, but the special effects are leap ahead like Star Wars was back in the late 70's. You really have to see it in theater (preferrably in the 3D) to appreciate just how amazing the movie is.
cool maybe I will go check it out this week. sounds pretty sweet
Yeah, it was pretty good. A bit long but I was never bored. 3D was definitely a bonus. My boys enjoyed it a lot.
I haven't heard a bad review yet. A lot of people were blown away with the 3D because they expected it to be the usual gimmicky stuff. I look forward to seeing it.

Just got home from it... if you guys get the chance, check out the new theater at southglenn! paid an exra 5 bucks to sit in the balcony. they serve beers(A+), and have a resturant up there. reasonable prices on booze, didnt try the food. Big comfy couch like chairs with rotating tray tables.
Movie was INCREDIBLE!!!!
3d rocked me! It was like a koala bear crapped a rainbow in my brain...! [ROFL1]

...Sounds pretty amazing. ;)
Been watching a few of the kids movies in digital 3D, and I have to say this movie takes the whole digital 3D to another level. Yeah, not the strongest plot line in the history of movies, but still and amazing viewing experience!
I heard that Imax 3D is the way to see it, so I just may do that today :)
I saw it in IMAX 3D, thought it was pretty cool. I did find the CO's method of carry a bit odd lol. (I know I'm not the only one here who caught that)

Ya, but after half a billion dollars of special effects and movie making, you can hardly fault them for not going the Michael Mann route and trying to teach some retarted actor how to actually handle firearms correctly.
Yes, the COL did have an interesting carry method...
I thought the movie was fantastic. Special effects were GREAT. Story line was predictable but that's becuase Hollywoods imangination is running on its' last synapse.
The undercurrent of morals, respect, and unified living really hit me hard. I love the way they played the people against each other. I actually have some Indian friends, and I saw the movie with them. After the movie (if you haven't seen it, there is a ton of traditional Old World Indian beliefs/tradiation/culture displayed) one of my friends simply stood up and said, "It's about time someone respects The Ways." That caught me, he didn't say "My ways" or "The Indian ways". He said "The Ways". Respecting life and only killing for sustenance, taking care of the natural resources, watching out for your fellow "clansmen", respecting the voice and opinions of others and different cultures, and mostly, fighting when nessecary. For me, it kind of brings a karnal yearning to live "life in the forest" away from all the crap that goes on in "civilized" society... Okay, tree hugger stuff over. HAHA.
Maybe I'm reading too much into it. I thought it was really well done. Definitely reccomend people go see it.
didn't get to see it yet.. tickets sell out in advance, so word to the wise (Oh and the rest of you on this forum) :D ;)
we got out of the film just before midnight saturday.
During the mandatory post flick smoke my buddy said "Those sasquatch smurfs just kicked a big damn hornet's nest"

I think what Dr Fwd is asking is: "Is the avatar a pic of someone WE can know?" <wink>

Its UFC All Access host Rachelle Leah. Pic was taken while she was on a USO tour for the toops, probably a few years ago now. I did not take the photo.

Have to say I loved the movie. The effects were amazing. A must see in the theater kind of film even if you don't like the story line. I did find the story line a little reused. Anyone see any parallels to Dances With Wolves. lol

Yep, definitely a parallel with Dances with Wolves. Either that, or it was like The Smurfs meet the Terminator. I thought that there were several characters that paralleled old characters in 'Aliens'. The CO reminded me of Duke Nukem.
Saw it yesterday in 3D with several buddies and everyone loved it. Even thought we were all right-wing gun nuts. YMMV
I do need to get my hands on some unobtanium, though...Anyone know where I can pick some up locally?
new analogy... Tom Cruise in "The Last Samurai" meets "Fern Gully"
