View Full Version : Shipping an NFA to a dealer
Recently sold an NFA item and need to ship it. What is the preferred method? From my research it seems the USPS via registered priority is the way to go. Anyone know otherwise?

If out of state, must go thru a dealer in CO. At least it use to work that way. For a private to nfa ffl. I'd have the right paperwork and go fedex, overnight .

Out of curiosity, has the stamp for the buyer cleared the BATFE yet? Doesn't the buyer's stamp have to be approved before any type of transfer? Or are you doing something like a form 3 from a local dealer to a SOT?
Form is approved just waiting for the USPS to deliver. I guess the dealer is sending me a label so I will use wait he sends.

You cannot ship it UPS, that is stated in their own rules.
It can go USPS registered mail.
I have used FedEx 2nd day air, if you make the correct selection it can be insured up to $50K.
Dealer to dealer transfer is fast, individual to dealer and dealer to individual is a long wait.
