From their letter to dealers...
Effective 4/1/2022, CCI, Federal, Hevi?Shot, Remington, and SPEER ammunition will take the following price increases:
Primers ? 5%
Powder ? 5%
Handgun ? 2-8%
Rifle ? 3-8%
Shotgun ? 3-12%
Additionally, due to continued demand, NO new Primer orders will be accepted until further notice.

Those folks who are refusing to buy ammo until price "comes back to normal" are going to be waiting a long time. Sorry, but brass case 9mm range ammo at $10/50 ain't happening.

And those that reload to save money are screwed as well

^^ It might get back close to that price for 9mm. I paid $11 and change for S&B 115gr FMJ about a week ago at a local farm/ranch store. Best price I've seen in a long time.
ETA: Same store has Federal American Eagle 5.7x28 for $34 now. Not quite back to pre-panic prices but it is getting close.

That is a good price. Interesting that CBC owns Magtech and S&B, and the cheapest I have seen the Magtech 115gr FMJ equivalent was $18 or $19 a box OTC retail a couple weeks ago.
As I said in 2020, import more ammo to stabilize ammo price.

I have an Aurora friend who buys ammo by the pallet. He's told me, "If everything goes to pot, my house is the place to be!"
I don't think he's too worried.
Well, if anybody needs 9mm or .223 brass, I have assloads of both. All cleaned up, just haven't bothered marketing it - health reasons.
Has anyone started to see primers (rifle and/or pistol) around? I see stacks and stacks of ammo in the stores, it stands to reason manufacturers might allocate some primers for individual sale (i.e., not in loaded ammo). [Dunno]

I've seen odd 1000 piece boxes at the LGS. Markup seems high still. Not that I expect pre Wuhan prices but this is well over the 5% mentioned in the OP.
Even with the projected increase cost in components, handloading will less expensive. The guys I shoot trap with are keeping a close eye on shotgun target ammunition. Handloading that was a money loosing proposition up to a year ago.

Sure...at the gun show for $125 / per 1K. That's what has my undies in a wad. I refuse to pay that for primers. Even at the big box stores, when they come in they are $80+ per 1K. I bought a case of 1000, 9mm (CCI Brass) for $350 the other day. I'll pay that long before I pay $100+ for primers.

I hate to say it, but $80/1,000 locally isn't looking too bad nowadays. If you can find them online, hazmat and shipping alone will $30+/-.
$80/k is cheap.
Seems the going rate is $100-120 per k delivered.
At least Federal was less expensive brand.
I just wish walmart start selling pistol ammo and 223/556
Seems like the prices are going about what the PPI is increasing.
As they say
Inflation is the cruelest tax.
Just think. You get to pay MORE sales taxes on that ammo you buy, but your money is worth less. The really awesome thing about inflation is with sales tax (and property tax)being a percentage, the government gets their money from you when inflation hits!!

Cabela's in Lone Tree had around 100K two weekends ago. I used to post up intel on it, until some shitbag member here bragged about going there and giving the staff a hard time about prices after I posted availability

Yep. I remember when you made that last post and the response from some bad ass giving the employee a hard time. I’m certain that employee got in touch with his contacts at Vista and told them to jack up the price some more and maybe even quit shipping them for a while.

Basically, he said he asked for a price check, then laughed in his face.
The way it was initially described could have a bad look, but on the other side, I've had a laugh with store employees over a price.
Exact quote below.
“Yea one of the dudes there is gonna be salty for the rest of the day after he confirmed the price for me and I laughed in his face lol.“

Well with the inflation rate being so high and the demand as well, guess we should be thankful it?s not a larger increase.
Also noticed a lack of rebates on anything ammo related other than maybe the stuff nobody buys often at all - like Turkey loads.
Speer used to have rebates for their bullets which made them great to stock up on.

I had to settle with Herters 100 round 9mm for 32.99 today at Cabelas.

Damn good price at today’s prices. Herters is essentially Winchester White box. I shoot it and have never had a problem.

Wow. Ok. You are obviously way more upset about this than he was. But ok.
Perhaps I could have worded it a bit better. My apologies.
I laughed while he was facing me. Im pretty sure he didnt give two shits about our interaction . Hence the “might “
I do not treat people poorly.
Oddly enough I ran in to the exact employee at Kiowa Creek and couple weeks later and we shot a round together.
But feel free to think Im a shitbag if it makes you happy. There was no badass intended.
Shitbag out.....
