View Full Version : Big day for the pup tomorrow
Ziva needs to have a couple of teeth extractions. She has some serious issues that developed fairly quickly and she also has a mass on her gum that needs to have a biopsy done on. Drop off is at 7:15, no more food/snacks tonight. She recently turned 11 and thankfully everything else looks good from her pre-op visit/xrays a couple of weeks ago. She's been a great pup these past 10 years, in a lifetime of having dogs she might just be the best. I'll update later on Tuesday, she should be home between 5-6p.

Hope all goes well. I?ll be watching for updates.

My pup had a similar surgery a year ago. Mass turned out to be benign tumor. Did loose some front teeth and a bit of jawbone. Doesn't seem to bother her at all after healing up. Wish you and pup the best and speedy recovery.

Best Wishes for Ziva !!!
Thanks all, just got an update-there’s 2 more teeth to come out so they’ll do that along with some preventative work on a couple more as well as her gums. She’ll probably be home around 5 or so. Glad I have the pet insurance!
Just brought Ziva home, she's still a little groggy-to be expected. The vet was very happy with how everything went, going easy on food for 2 weeks. She normally eats kibble so the vet said to wet it good and only give her half of her regular portion tonight. I'll keep her on the soft food for 2 weeks when she has a checkup. I expect she'll sleep most of tonight, glad she got a new bed a couple of weeks ago.
Thanks again for all the kind words/support.

Thanks for the update - glad she came through it well. All too familiar, looking at a groggy Rottie with an IV bandage.
Thanks once more all. The bandage came off shortly after I took the pic. She slept for a bit, gave her a light meal of soggy food lol, she went outside after to do her thing, came back in and has been sawing logs, out for the night. I expect she'll be a lot more like her old self tomorrow. I'm dog sitting my younger son's pup again starting Thursday-this weekend are the bachelor/bachelorette parties for him and his soon to be wife. The pup settles down after a few zoomies in the backyard and loves sleeping right up against Ziva. I'm sure she'll be happy to have him around.
Great that shes doing well. Keep us updated.
A good, quiet night. She woke at her usual time, ate her soggy food then went outside to let the other dogs in the neighborhood know she's back lol. Back inside resting comfortably now.
