No doubt the event be excused by the perp being "disadvanged", "marginalized", or "mentally ill".

I used to live in the apartments right there, that was a crappy place to live 10 years ago.

Looks like it hasn't changed a bit.

The video in the OP is a shining example of something I've been considering for some time now and it makes me feel that the movie Idiocracy has become a blueprint for the future of humanity.

Throughout the history of mankind we've always sought to advance and improve ourselves. Our goal was to become more civilized and more intelligent as a whole - increasing the gap between mankind and other animals on the planet. We prided ourselves in our advancements in technology, our speech and our arts. While I don't know how long it's actually been occurring, I've noticed a significant lowering of our standards in these things over the past 30 years. Sadly, at an increasing rate, this overall lowering of our standards has been ignored, accepted, excused and even adopted by society as a whole.

We're replacing much of ourselves with lazy and more animalistic traits. We're replacing the beauty of intelligent speech with minor gutteral grunts. Beautiful musical compositions have been replaced with tribal sounding thump, thump, thumping sounds which appeal to our baser animal instincts and less to the intellectual parts of ourselves. We used to consider how our actions might affect others and tried to be civilized but now we only care to consider "me" and seek immediate gratification, especially if doing otherwise might inconvenience us. Why find a a bathroom toilet to use if I can just drop trowel here and crap on someones doorstep? Why work for what I want if I can just take it from someone else? Why pick up after ourselves if I can just drop my trash right here?

If you don't understand what I'm saying, consider my words as you look around yourselves. Look at all of today's news: At the overwhelming deteriorization of cities like San Francisco, L.A., Denver... Look at the behavior or those "protesting" in places like Portland and Seattle. Look at the bulk of popular music today. Look around. I don't think I'm too far off the mark.

As I said in another thread yesterday, I don't hold out much hope for the future of humanity.

Speaking of animals, most of my neighbors have big dogs. When all the dogs start barking, I go out and look around.
I think I am just going to add more cameras. Like Ginsue said, it has become a jungle. Too bad we have to fight it all the time.

What complex is that? It looks familiar.

Conifer Creek Apartments is where I lived, that could possibly be the townhomes behind it though. Just east on Iliff from Peoria, right behind Overland.

I just spent an hour tapping out my take on society and went to to post it and the site logged me out when I went to post it.

In a nutshell, indoctrination in the public schools at all levels promotes tribalism and cultural divisions to create a servile class for the political class.

My take, the warrior class is taken for granted. As one of my professors stated about his other students, "they want to be entertained, not learn". So yes, WCT is correct.

Ah, I used to live at Iliff and Chambers. I drove past those apartments pretty regularly.

That's happened to me too many times. Now when I suspect I'll be typing up a long post I do it in MS Word then cut-&-paste it into a post.

If you get the chance to rewrite it, I'd love to read it. You tend to have thought provoking posts like that.

The title of this thread caught my attention. I read this last night and found much to marinate on...

I have been thinking about a former coworker who grew up and went to school in Aurora. She frequently commented on how ghetto it was. All things considered, she turned out very well. Polite, well mannered, not just well educated, but smart. As I got to know her, I found she was raised in a God fearing home and had views rather to the right of many of our other coworkers and the management.

As I read through the posts and saw how they evolved into a commentary on the education system, this thread continued to hit home as we were both employed by an organization that helps at risk and/or disadvantaged children. I have to agree with the consensus those who posted.

I have observed this to be absolutely true. Education is ?boring.? Many school kids see little value in learning. They haven?t figured out that Mommy and Daddy aren?t going to take care of them forever. They?re here for a good time. Mom and Dad don?t take time with them and turn them loose with an electronic device babysitter.

? We used to consider how our actions might affect others and tried to be civilized but now we only care to consider "me" and seek immediate gratification, especially if doing otherwise might inconvenience us.
?.

This paragraph can be likewise applied to what BushMasterBoy wrote. The kids today have very little sense of empathy and no vision of the future and how their disinterest in learning will impact not them but society.

Neither she (my former coworker) nor I were asked to stay around when things went online a couple years ago ?to flatten the curve.? When I reflect back on that experience, I realize much of the curriculum seemed designed to either spread ?the white man?s burden? or induce liberal guilt. If you don?t buy into it, you don?t stay around long.

Back to the former coworker- I sometimes think about her. I heard she dragged up stakes and went back to Aurora. I hope she is doing well.
