My older son is home from what will be his final deployment!! He's in another state at the moment but will be home on Friday!! Can't wait. He will finish out his last 18 months at home then pull the plug on 20 years. Where the hell has the time gone? It seems like just yesterday he was a college kid without direction and let me know he enlisted.

This is his team, photo taken at their base in a sandy area. He's third to the right of the flag in the mirrored sunglasses. E7, NCOIC, Flight Medic, was functioning as the 8 for this deployment. Can't wait to see him and give him a big hug!!

Congrats, Doc! I share in your happiness.

My son is in AK, also an E7, and is counting the days until July 2023 when he can retire. 7 deployments between Iraq and Afghanistan...not to mention all the other travel and TDYs.

It seems like just last week I was in San Antonio watching him graduate from basic training.

Congratulations to your son and your family!

I would be at almost 24 years now if I had stayed-in. My life would be absolutely and completely different now if that was the case.
