Reminds me of the day I took a bunch of relatives, including a very liberal aunt, from California, to the range. We all had a great time with the .22s, a Browning Hi Power, a bolt action .308 my grandfather bought back in the 60s, maybe some old war horses from WWI and II. Then I pulled out an AR-15. Everyone except her thought no big deal. She acted like she expected it to contain an evil spirit that would possess her at any moment. The change in her demeanor was quite dramatic and her discomfort was palpable.
