I'm dumb and don't read lawyer. Does this mean Bass Pro won't be buying SW?

Correct. SW backed out of the agreement . My bad thought it was another link to the info.

Wooo hoo! Much crap can fall when a single corporation owns 75% of the retail gun market.

Yeah, think came out some time ago, happy about it as I prefer SW over Bass/Cabelas. If the purchase would have gone through that would have meant that the only other option in town for a wide range of outdoors gear would have been Scheels. The more options the better. Goes back to the day in 2000 when I first moved to Boulder/Colorado and we had around 8 outdoors gear shops in Boulder then REI moved in and now it’s REI or Neptune Mtn Sports. Can’t stand REI and drive to the nearest SW now.

From what I have read it seems it was called off as "FTC regulators we're likely not going to approve"

It will cost bass pro, "Under the termination agreement, Great Outdoors Group agreed to pay Sportsman’s Warehouse a termination fee of $55.0 million."

^ that. It was costly m&a break up for a $7b in annual sales.

I?m kind of sad it didn?t happen.

I mean the country as a whole seems to be on some sort of fast track to communism. Why not just have the one, collective sporting goods conglomerate? Seems like a good start.

Sure, one Dick's to rule them all.

Sounds like paradise.

Monopoly-duopoly-oligopoly

Or
Nationalization.

I pick NEITHER.

Very reason natural monopoly is regulated in majority of countries. Therefore the electric bill is not $4000/mo @$x kw-h

SW is selling 223/556 for cheaper than average retailer/online sellers.
Of course order online and pick up at store to save shipping cost.
