Shocked the heck out of me, Canyon City was thinking of gun bans after the recent synagogue hostage situation - since being defenseless worked out so well in that situation... <sarcasm>

However, on the news last night KOAA [disappointingly] pointed out that everything had been rejected.*

* This was that station that reported that nine people had died during the Jan 6th "insurrection" (their word, not mine) by conflating a bunch of post-Jan 6th deaths with the protest.

...and I can't find the news story where it was stated that the laws had been spiked. So they're willing save the report on the laws being proposed, but not the report on them failing.

I've come to the conclusion that the deep blue background on their sets is not a coincidence.

Once again, I challenge any local government busybody to show me the data indicating the ever increasing plague of violent crime committed by CCW permit holders in their local fiefdoms.

The stupid definitely is not just limited to Boulder and Denver.

Isn't everyone in Canon city a cop of some sort?

Isn't everyone in Canon city a cop of some sort?

Corrections officers and related positions are the largest source of employment in Fremont county

so not everybody but a large portion of the population... the stupid has been strong for quite a while in the Canon City council (I used to live in Penrose)

I.I.R.C. it is more than 50% of gainful employment with something like 14 prisons/jails, or is it 17?... I forget. They have a higher per capital law enforcement too yet woefully underpay them. I'd think they have gotten at least a dollar or two raise by now post-pandemic, but it was something like $15.00/LEO starting pay not long ago.
