View Full Version : walther P380??
Does anyone know anything about the Walther PK380?
I just came across a brand new one for $339.
Is this a good price? Is this a good carry gun?
Thanks
**edit** I changed the name in the title to reflect the firearm I was refering too**
do you mean a kahr p380?
I've never fired one but I've heard ok things about kahr. the company is owned by the moonies tho. Price seems ok.

Yeah, the P380 is Kahr. I HATE KAHR! The guns look stupid and their advertizing is idiotic. I've never shot one though.
Walthers look beautiful though.

This doesn't even make sense to me. I haven't shot one yet either. :(
kahr site lists msrp $649, $758 with night sights. so if it's in good shape and you trust the buyer it might be a good deal.
my next pocket popgun is going to be a ruger lcp, I think.
my bryco is getting long in the tooth~

Walther has a PK380? Looks alright but I don't like the gun design. I don't have a reason just don't.
I couldn't afford full price for a Kahr, but every once in a while I come across a well priced used one.

Are you thinking of the Walther PPS? That is their ploymer frame compact pistol. I haven't shot it yet, but I have a boner for it.
Okay, I believe it was the Walther PK 380, this one here

Aside from personal apperance opinions, does anyone have any positive or negative feedback on the firearm?

I've fired a Kahr PM9 and I thought it might be nice for CCW. It's relatively small, narrow, and light for a 9mm... but with only 6+1 capacity, I decided to look elsewhere.
EDIT: Well, it looks like this is no longer valid since 4 posts were made after I hit the reply button.

I think the walther pistols are over engineered personally. And it is kind of big for a 380. For 380's I like the LCP/KelTec size pistols. For the PK 380's size it should hold more than 8 rounds. I might be nit-picking a bit. It does hold/feel well in the hands!

I like that it has an external hammer and a conventional single/double action design. I personally think this arrangement is much easier to fire accurately.

I was thinking along those same lines, 8 rounds just doesnt seem right. But I definitely like the way it feels and it seemed like a good price.

THe price you mentioned is good. I work for a shop and I think, we sell them for close to five. I'm not positive though.
I ended up with a Kel-Tec P11, and so far I'm pretty happy with it. 10+1 rounds of 9mm, in the same package size as a PPK...kicks like a mule, though...
That walther look sharp, I'd buy it. I like walthers.
had a p99 in .40, just wasn't a good fit for me. would always bite the top of my thumb. gave it to my dad. gonna get a pps next.

I looked at those, but I can barely hold on to them. Little tiny grip and that sharp blowback recoil makes it hard to keep a grip on for me. Buddy of mine just bought an LCR last weekend and I'm going to see how it does. With any luck, he'll decide he doesn't like it and I can trade him for it. He tends to go through new toys, I'll just help him out.
Says it's a scaled up version of the P22.. Hmmm.. I do like my P22.. Might have to look into it..
I hadnt seen this yet! looks like a fun one to me! I like my LCP, and I love my P99. Might hafta get something in between!
It seems like a nice compramise between a small, yet comfortable gun that actually fits in my hand and feels really nice.
