Grass fire near my house in the Fort today, too. Craziness.

Hope everyone gets out OK down there!

There seem to be a lot of random fire in that area. Enough that the word random might not be correct..

My cousin's home and neighborhood is officially evacuated but this appears to be an overreaction for political cover. Apparently 60 acres has expanded to 120 acres.

The fire is at the base of the flatirons in Ponderosa Pine and surrounding grassland
. Hope it doesn't grow into the suburban wildland interfy.

We just drove in on the Turnpike and it's pretty much out. Some smoke and maybe a few burning logs.

I did learn something new today on Twitter that dormant dry grass didn't burn before climate change happened. [Flower] [facepalm]

Increase in fires in the Boulder area can be directly correlated to the legalization of recreational MJ consumption and higher concentration of the type of individuals so interested that product. Prove me wrong.

You mean dead beat drainbows that just want to live their lifestyle at the expense of others? Sadly, they predate MJ legalization. There are just more of them allowed to be "fawk ups" now.

9news just taught me snow from earlier in the month that has melted and either evaporated or has run off doesn't suppress fire.

Science!

And every molecule of carbon dioxide is like a feather in a down comforter and contributes to global warming errr climate change. Mike Nelson said so

Well, more like one segment of one fiber on each feather but that's as true as saying every drop of the squirrel peeing in my backyard contributes to pollution in the Arkansas River ....
