X-Caliber 45 ACP Barrel, new build, etc...

Good morning. I am in the middle of putting together my shopping list for a side-charging AR-45.

These are what I need and what I've initially decided on

The linear comp is basically a thread protector as I have a second .45 ACP build already and only one suppressor to swap between the two.

The X-Caliber barrels appear to have a sharp edge and no feed ramp, but I think a few minutes on a lathe with some sandpaper should prevent any feeding issues. Minor touch-up just to smooth out that edge, but it might not even be a problem to begin with.

Does anyone have a coupon code for x-caliber, or want to talk me out of it and into the Macon barrel instead?

Whose upper you going with? I decided to do a side charging upper. Been looking at a few different ones, this looks a little like the gibbz, upper.

I bought the upper from 00tec last week. Here's the link to the upper:

It appears to line up perfectly with the New Frontier lower, and may be made by New Frontier (Or made by whoever actually makes theirs).

The Moriarti lower I linked above looks exactly like the New Frontier lower, and I suspect they are probably the same lowers with different roll stamps. I like the Moriarti rollstamp better so am going that route.


ETA- I went and looked at the Gibbz uppers, they certainly have a unique look. Pretty cool.

The Moriarti receiver came in today and I picked it up over lunch. The last thing I need is the barrel, which I ordered but the website says 10-12 weeks lead time.

I haven't had a chance to mate the lower to the upper yet to see how closely they match, but it appears to be a dead ringer to the New Frontier Armory lowers with a different roll stamp. Whatever finish is on there isn't as smooth as I'd prefer. It's not damaged or scuffed or anything like that, just looks thick. I'll get some pictures after work to show what I mean.

Barrel arrived yesterday and looked good. I put it on last night. I swapped my .45 ACP Suppressor over to this new build and put the linear comp on the other one.
This build is complete, maybe I can get it out to the range this weekend.
