Jordan Binnington definitely kept them in the game with some amazing saves, the post did as well. It could have easily been 6-2.

Cool to watch other teams play. Gaudreau and McDavid are fun to watch.
Avs were flat last night and the Blues had the energy. Total flip flop from game 1.

Tampa is nothing to laugh at or take lightly, they are a very capable team.
If anybody can comeback from a deficit they can.
But the odds are stacked against them pretty deeply.
Only 5 teams in history have won the Cup 3 consecutive times.
Only 5 teams have come back from a 2 game deficit in the finals to win the Cup.
Vasilesky is one of the best goaltenders in the game. Leaving him in for the entire game did one of two things- he was forced to own the loss and it will either fill him with a resolve to up his game and he will be incredible or it broke his psyche and he will be a tomato.
We have a huge advantage at sea level, hopefully they didn’t wipe themselves out too bad last night and recover quickly.
We need to put Tampa down quickly, if we can win tomorrow night it will be a huge pressure off of CO.
Only 1 team in history has come back from 3-0 to win the Cup.

I think the out come of last nights game was about expected. Ya just knew TB was going to come out with more pep in their step, BUT I think the Avs still showed they're in it to win it. Besides, a loss only means that lifting the cup in Denver is now possible;)

In watching the game I think the ice sucks in Tampa and it tossed the Av's off of their game a bit. 90 degrees and 100% humidity is a poor recipe for crisp, hard and fast ice which suites the Av's style of play. You could see it in missed passes, failure to complete plays and overall poor puck movement.
I never figured it would be a sweep, interesting how they pulled Kuemper and had Francouz close it out.

The Avalanche are a team with a demonstrated need for an occasional kick to the nuts. Splitting the games in Tampa would be perfectly fine.

+1 Yup, the Avs occasionally lay an egg and need a reminder. Hopefully last night was the only one.
Kuemper let in 3 softies, starting with the first goal by Cirelli. Others made tons of mental mistakes or bad execution, too many to list. Game 2 was a rare example of everything going right. Bednar talked about that with his postgame comments when he mentioned the excellent shooting accuracy. Some games they otherwise play well but can't hit the broad side of the barn.

I don't feel too bad about the Avs having 6 players on the winning goal when the Lighting got to rip-off Kuemper's face mask with a stick and then pop the puck into the net for their first score.

Yeah . . . saw this morning that the Bolts had 7. That literally happens on every line change in every game. Whining about that technicality for the winning goal is worse than whining about a missed traveling call in the NBA. That call is never made in hockey unless the extra player had some impact on the action.
Tampa was completely gassed in the OT and was short on defensemen. They were on borrowed time anyway. The better team won.

Cooper has a lot of gall to whine like that, especially when his own teams non-call of too many men led to their 1-0 win over the Islanders in the playoffs last year and on the Kadri goal play they were guilty of the same thing. Total whiny hipocrite.
Bednar will have the Avs appropriately focused on winning Fri night. Major benefit: not having to play on that crappy slush in TB. That should serve as good additional motivation to wrap it up Friday.

That's one of the best things about hockey, more often than not the officials just let them play. There aren't a lot of needless calls. Pro hockey is not far removed from pond hockey other than the skill level. They just play on.

Avs allowed that pretty uncontested shot and Kuemper can't stop them all.
While it'd be nice for the Avs to win at home, they way they've played in Florida up to this point gives them the advantage. Of course as long as they don't psyche themsevles out.

Well there were some folks that jumped the fences at the Tivoli watch party lol. And now the watch party there for Sunday's game has been canceled. Ball Arena will still host one so chances are good idiots will leave there and go nuts if the Avs win.

My 16 year old was at Scout Camp all week and missed games 2 - 5. He is a big Avs fan and it's well worth the $80 to take family down there and watch the jumbotron from center ice. I feel way more comfortable parking just across the street and going into the arena unarmed versus having to negotiate getting down to one of the outdoor watch parties unarmed (they have security theater screening) given all the other crap going on in the area. Actually, the Tivoli one was canceled due to poor fan conduct, further reinforcing being in the more controlled environment. If they win, we just enjoy the moment and depart when it makes sense. Obviously, armed status will be restored once getting back to the vehicle.
I'm a bit jealous and would love to be there, I'm feeling a bit optimistic that tonight is the night. You've got a great plan, have fun!

Good time at Ball Arena! The fans were great!
No crowd problems and we were able to get on the road quickly once leaving the building.
I guess the stupid started up north, with the attempted bonfire of the McGregor Square furniture, and then more specialness at 20th & Market.
Walked into the living room where the GF had the game on. 2-1 with several minutes left on the clock in the 3rd period and immediately a huge battle around the avs goal started. I changed the channel.
