Got rear ended,,, just awhile ago some moron ran into the back of the Blazer.. At Hampton and Santa Fe,, The light had just changed and I had stopped,, When the moron in the Ford Slammed into the back.. I have some minor damage to the bumper and I can't open the rear hatch.. But,, I drove off...
His FORD F150, The grill was smashed,, The bumper was hanging,, and definatley needing towed..
Guessing he may have been argueing with the old lady and not paying attention, and slammed into me.. Speeding would be my guess also...

Had other things on My mind and didn't think of that untill later... Sorry...
Why'd he need towed? Radiator get punched?
You should be glad his truck was made to break all those parts, instead of smashing your truck and tweaking your neck.

Given that vehicles are now made of a lesser mil of metal than they used to be and the bumpers are rated for, what, 5 mph...10 mph..., I'm not surprised that they get all busted up in any accident.
[ROFL1]
I have an ancient Blazer that I built a bumper for, I got hit several years ago by a Mustang,,,, TOTALLED the stang,, cops couldn't figure where my damage was besides the flat tire....

No worries, I completely understand....
Make sure to take note how you feel the next day or so, it can take 2+ days to see if you were really hurt or not. If it wrecked the other guy's truck, then you were hit pretty hard. . .
Better call in the Strong Arm....
Well, the only thing that hurts is the foot,, So, not sure if that was before or after...[ROFL1] Not I didn't really move that much, seatbelts do work.. Yes, I will keep an eye one things though...
Stu,, His bumper was hanging off the truck nearly on the ground..
I'm also wondering if they Might have stuck a tube in his face also..
They sent me on my way, so not sure of what was going on..
So, complete speculation on my part,, But considering I glanced in the mirror and there wasn't anybody close then 2 seconds later,,,,,
Maybe, after they measured the skid marks they gave Him the tube...
He did hit those real hard... Might be why nobody moved after the light changed, They heard it.. And the jacked thing about it was there was nobody in the other lane.. He could have gone over there with no problem..
I was wondering who/what that guy hit. You have the white Blazer I assume. Just cruising by you didn't appear to have enough vehicle damage to have cause what damage the Ford had. The way the Ford was sitting so low in the front I thought it had suspension damge as well as flat tires.
I hope you don't have any injuries.
Good Luck
Yep,, 'bout 1:30 or so? Yeah that's what I was thinking Mine's still drivable.. His,, Not so sure it was.. the way His bumper was hanging..
Just thought,,, Mtn.man,, Maybe We should do a little bumper work on mine....[Tooth]
I will say this for the some what comical nature of it,, out of three accidents My vehicles have been involved,, This was the first time I was Actually in the vehicle...[Stooge]

Can do. mine is an 82' hunting rig, 35"s 1 ton suspension BBC, a 6" round bumper with space in side for tire chains front an 8" square edge with solid brush guard and winch mount. Thought I had some pics,, maybe later.
I doubt you will, but let me know if you have any questions or need any help with the insurance process.
I will have to give FORD some props though. My buddy just totaled his 99 F150 ex. cab. He hit ice on the highway doing triple digits, went sideways for about a 1/4 mile down an embankment, into a line of big cedar or spruce trees. He said he might of even rolled it but wasn't sure.
completely totaled. the driver side rear wheel is completely ripped out...with brake assembly and everything!
I am waiting on pictures and then I will get them posted.
he doesn't have a scratch on him...well now he does on his hand because he punched his door when he got home he was soo pissed...he only has liability.[Bang]
I will Stu,, Our Agent is pretty good at making things happen.. Just hoping that there isn't more damage than it looks like.. It seems fine though No pulling when braking or anything like that..

Glad to hear everyone is ok...
Had an accident one time in Phoenix while driving my Charger... I was in a parking lot waiting for traffic, and someone pulled out of a space, and ran right into the back of me..
felt a pretty hard bump, but not like an "impact" (been in those, too) then saw the steam...
get out to survey the damage... pushed his grill right into his radiator- hood crumpled, significant damage to the bumper.. look at the Charger- like any car made in 68, the bumpers are solid steel ranging from 1/8" to 1/4".. not measured in Gauge like today's trucks... but bolted directly to the frame...
I found some of his paint rubbed off on one of the "bumperettes" that stick out.. scraped it off with my fingernail...
the guy seemed grateful when I said, "I'm good, you want to call the police, or just fix it yourself?"
So I drive a 1999 Infiniti G20t. Earlier this year I was traveling approx 50 mph in that first snow storm on West bound I-70. The snow build up between lanes grabbed my tires and pulled me into a fish tail. I didn't do the right things (probably could have pulled out of it) and it sent me into the wall. First I hit front passenger corner, then I bounced off, continued the spin, and hit again on rear driver corner. I thought I was doing 50 mph before hand, and I immediately thought the car was going to be a total (because of the age and value of the car). Well, I must have scrubbed off more speed than I thought, because it only cracked the front bumper and broke my passenger fog light. Car is fully drivable, headlights fine, no structural damage. If I didn't tell you which side hit in the read, you'd have a difficult time figuring it out yourself. The only clue is that the rear bumper sticks out about 1/6 of an inch where it connects above the rear tire. Sometimes cars can take a hit at a much higher rate of speed and not suffer serious damage than you expect. I used to see that a lot when I was a claims adjuster. I only did it for two years but I got to see a lot of funny/cool accidents. I didn't deal with injuries, so the accidents I saw were still under the "funny/cool" category.

as long as we're talking single car accidents- I had an incident with my '99 Dodge Neon (you wanna talk about no resale value???)
was heading NB on I-25 just North of Cimmaron in Colorado Springs.. when some jagoff passed me on the right, and tried to cram his car in 3/4 the length he needed.. I probably should've just let him hit me- but I reacted, swerved into an empty lane & started a skid... headed for the center wall... swerved the other way & missed the wall, but was now in a total flat spin... stopped facing the wrong way on the right shoulder of the hwy..
hooked a quick U-turn before traffic caught up, and nailed the throttle, was determined to at least get a license plate off the a-hole that cut me off..
caught sight of him, but he turned East on Filmore, and lost him in traffic [Mad]
but at least I had no damage, except flat spots on all 4 tires.. and an adrenaline rush that lasted until lunch...

Better call in the Strong Arm....
I made that joke to my brother. His wife (they both came to one of our shoots with me about a year ago) was hit hard and it killed her Xterra. Dickhead blew through the light, and busted her wrist bad. Their wedding was less than a month away, so she (and my brother) got married with a huge cast and bad bruises all over her.
The dumbass admitted he knew the light was red, but figured he could still get through before the other traffic got in the road. I did learn that cops really investigate well when a cops future wife gets in an accident where she gets hurt.
Yay, we talking about single car wrecks? I have you all beat!
Junoir year of high school in TX. A buddy of mine and myself had a summer job mowing lawns, washing cars, pruning trees, etc. General day labor. He drove a bright yellow 2 ton truck. The back was loaded up with rakes, lawn mower, pressure washer etc. As we were headed home on the highway after an unusually LOOONG day, we traveled over an underpass... I woke up 6 weeks later in ICU.
Apparently, my buddy (we are still friends to this day) had some unknown medical condition. As we went over the bridge, he passed out and threw the wheel. The truck easily over came the guardrail and we were airborne. Speed was around 75 mph. I was not wearing a seatbelt. Upon impact, I was ejected THROUGH THE ROOF of the two ton truck. I MADE A SUNROOF. Serisouly, the roof was "peeled" back where I went through it. (I'll call the parents after work and see if they can scan the pictures for y'all, it's impressive!)
Ok, so, the buddy was buckled in. His injuries resulted in 13 metal staples to the scalp from glass cuts and a broken collar bone from the seatbelt, a ruined truck and about one thousand three hundred bucks for the mowers, pressure washer, etc.
My injuries - broken neck, broken back (3 vertebrae), fractured skull, both legs broken (right leg in 4 places), right arm and shoulder broken, 2 ribs on the right side, punctured lung, left elbow fracture, right pelvic hip bone smashed, 6 weeks in comma, over a year in rehab (had to learn to walk/talk basic motor functions again), and over 100K in medical expenses.
To this day I do have limited physical mobility such as turning my head left and right or bending completely down (like in yoga) BUT, I can walk, I can talk, I can play my horn, I can shoot, I can wrestle, etc. I can run and gun with the best of 'em. Talk about a miracle. Oh yeah, and I had a wonderful support system. My teachers came to the hospital and I still graduated on time... didn't walk nor never went to a prom, but I graduated and now even completed a Masters, with plans for a DMA/PhD after debt is under control.
All well and good BB,, but it will catch up to you when you get older.
I have broken pretty much everything that can be broken, neck and pelvis included.
Arthur in most of the joints, hip hurts where pelvis healed and Docs don't help cept to push pills.
I have to work out everyday (which is a good thing) to stay healthy for doing what I like to do.
So eat right work out cause one day when you wake up and say "I musta slept wrong...."

Rgr Sir,
It already has. I am a large boy naturally (farm boy) and could stand to lose some weight. I can surely tell when the barometric pressure changes as my joints "freeze" and tend to hurt a little. I try to work out and eat right, but every now and then for some reason a nice juicy steak finds it's way onto my plate... [ROFL2] They (docs) say I'll be an old grouch when I'm at retiring age... but I never trusted needle/drug pushers anyway. Nothing a lil RR won't fix, albeit temporarily.
Steaks good,, course we only eat stuff I kill or from free range cattle chickens etc. check out some of the holistic docs on the net.
The natural way is a little slower but more western medical docs are going the way of the old'n days. And accupuncture really works.
Does he have Narcolepsy with collapse or something? Catalepsy or something?

Mmmhmm... you have any peppered venison jerky I can buy off you?! (refer back to my unneccesary spending post and getting out of debt discussion. HAHAHAHA)
Acupuncture... I'm not too fond of needles... About broke the docs arm on my last hospital visit a few years ago. They couldn't find a the vein (weren't using a friggin' tourny to pop it either!!!) and kept on sticking me. About the fourth time I told her she was done and if she sticks me again I will break her arm. She called security and... well, I didn't get stuck again! lol. I was very polite about it though, honest.

Stuart, no, it was (is) an unknown condition. He just blacked out. Has only happened once since that accident. No epilepsy, narcolepsy, nothing they could find.
