The powers that be will probably use this to push vegetarian agendas and raise prices on beef

Yeah, this was put out there a few days ago.. something like 10,000 cattle across the state of Kansas, your article only says 2000.. Last year 2.89 million heads of cattle were slaughterd so if you go by the 10,000 number that comes out to .0035% of the cattle produced in a year.

I have no doubt this is insignificant number. My point is they are going to use the info to raise prices on food items and push more global warming nonsense

It was hot in a lot of states that week. I wonder if the rancher didn't water his cattle.
Also, too late (and yes, the quote says "greenhouse has"):
"In the long run, the most effective way to address the challenge is to redouble our collective efforts to reduce greenhouse has emissions as quickly and as comprehensively as possible," he said.

Way more complicated than first reported. Lots of theories, many totally bogus others worth exploring.

Dry aged beef. They get a premium for it.
Fentanyl.
That's why you should be a good cow and stay in the barn at night.
