I have been saying this for a year. He is running for president. I didn't think it would be in '24 but the poor showing of President Biden has a lot of Democrats feeling uneasy about his prospects for re-election.
The article linked has an opening line- "Jared Polis is running for President."
He is getting a lot of attention nationally, much of it positive.
Democrats may be getting desperate for someone younger and with a broader appeal across demographics.
Polis checks a lot of boxes. Princeton, business owner, Congress, Governor, gay.
I would not be surprised at all to see him accelerate his timetable and announce he is running, later this year or early '23.

Who will his running mate be? AOC or Mayor Pete?
And most importantly, who's gonna portray them on Saturday Night Live?
Explains why the dems have been so soft on gun control in this state despite their majority.
And yes, they've been soft despite what we may think.

That's an interesting prospect. I've been thinking Hickenlooper but as you state, Polis checks more boxes. The "interesting" part is that compared to what he is facing now, as Gub'ner, he will probably have a lot more checks on his "power" and hopefully, his agenda. After Biden, whoever the Democrats nominate will have to be on top of their game when it comes to statesmanship (hopefully).

hickenlooper is an inarticulate buffoon, not much better than Biden. Polis is not.

Neither. She is too far left and he has limited experience and has been ineffective thus far.
If the Democrats are smart, they will realize the shift to the left has hurt them. They would likely find someone less extreme and more palatable to "middle America".
Someone like Gretchen Whitmer of Michigan would fit the bill nicely.

Polis has had designs much larger than CO for queer sometime.
He would be viable in ‘24
The explosion of crime along with the decrease in population growth under Polis are things that could hamper him on a national stage or local for that matter.
What I want to know is how is the state Republican party going to shoot themselves in the foot again when running against him?

He would be viable in ?24^^^This. He has been preparing since House days.
Ideally 2028, would have next gov term to turn up the natl exposure(ala DeSantis last couple years). But with the cluster in the Dem over reach they have damn few prospects that are not tainted. They have to bypass the radicals for any hope of even competing in 2024. Polis has played Colrado very well and honed his political skills in the process. He may end up as dem darling.
