View Full Version : Shooter in Indiana Mall Stopped by 'Good Samaritan'
This one probably won't be in the news cycle very long;
Three people are dead after a man opened fire in an Indianapolis mall. The shooter was killed by a 'good Samaritan,' police said. (https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/crime/three-people-are-dead-after-a-man-opened-fire-in-an-indianapolis-mall-the-shooter-was-killed-by-a-good-samaritan-police-said/ar-AAZFYgx)
Good guy with gun stops bad guy with gun.
Four people were dead, including the suspected shooter, after a man with a long gun entered a mall south of Indianapolis and opened fire, police said.
The shooter appeared to have been fatally shot by a 22-year-old "good Samaritan" who witnessed the attack and opened fire with a handgun with the intention of ending the assault, Ison said.He praised the young man, identifying him only as being from Bartholomew County, south of the metro area.
"The real hero of the day was the Samaritan that was lawfully carrying a firearm who was able to stop the shooter almost as soon as it began," Ison said.

You mean:
"Gun nut youth denies civil rights of suspect who was failed by society."
or
"If the wannabe shooter couldn't obtain weapons of war, the citizen wouldn't need to be armed."
or
"All gun violence is bad."
Just using my progressive spin generator...
Anyway, I am glad the armed citizen decided "not here, not today". We will probably be seeing more of that.

Sad. True.
I forgot some other ones...
"Why does a 22 year old have a hidden gun in public? How is that even legal?"
"Why did either of them have a gun? The mall has a "No Weapons" policy."

"If the wannabe shooter couldn't obtain weapons of war, the citizen wouldn't need to be armed."
This is the one.
Remember, they don't want to take away your right to own a gun. They want to make everyone's lives safer and the obvious first step is ridding society of scary black rifles.
I was surprised to see this in USA Today. I didn't think they'd cover it since it doesn't fit the narrative.

CBS News 4 covered it very briefly with no credit given other than a bystander with a legally carried concealed gun.
Then, they went to coverage of efforts to reduce gun violence.
Gun Violence is an interesting term, as is Gun Safety.
I keep thinking that they are attributing some action to the firearm itself versus the person handling it.

POTUS ought to give the guy a medal. Mayor should give him a key to the city. The .gov rarely rewards.

The left is already calling him a vigilante and saying he should be prosecuted for breaking the mall's no firearm policy.
At least no one has to support the shooter, and go through multiple trials for decades.
WTG good Samaritan.
Sorry to hear about the 4 people.

As expected, Shannon Watts has chimed-in with her sage assessment of the situation...
"I don’t know who needs to hear this but when a 22-year-old illegally brings a loaded gun into a mall and kills a mass shooter armed with an AR-15 after he already killed three people and wounded others is not a ringing endorsement of our implementation of the Second Amendment," Moms Demand Action Founder Shannon Watts said on Twitter.

Another lost boy.
"Sapirman was from a troubled family, court records obtained by Heavy reveal, and his brother sought guardianship of him after his mother lost her job and ended up in a shelter after his parents divorced. He had a juvenile history of assault, including at school, those court records reveal.
The petition alleges that the mother suffered a job loss two years before and went to live in a shelter. Jonathan went to live with his brother, Justin, at that time. After an ?incident? not described, the Department of Child Services assumed control of Jonathan. He was placed in a foster family, then returned to live with his brother.
The Court notes an extreme antipathy by Jonathan to his Mother. "
I certainly am not a psychiatrist but there is almost always a common theme among these dolts.
Lack of a strong male figure in their life. Someone to smack them in the head when they are acting like an asshole. A fear of repercussions for stepping out of line.
I would not be surprised to find a history of psychotropic medications as well.

3 people and a POS terrorist, plus more wounded. I have no sympathy for the prick who felt he had to take innocent lives so he doesn't count towards those who were killed.

IN just enacted Constitutional carry on 7-1. Seems like it's working.

https://www.wrtv.com/news/local-news/crime/what-we-know-about-the-armed-civilian-who-killed-greenwood-gunman
?I will say his actions were nothing short of heroic. He engaged the gunman from quite a distance with a handgun,? Ison said. "(He) was very tactically sound as he moved to close in on the suspect, he was also motioning for people to exit behind him. He has no police training and no military background.?
Ison explained to WRTV, Dicken?s first shot at the gunman was from 40-50 yards away and it appeared the very first shot hit the gunman.
Dicken was able to hit the gunman with additional rounds.
On Tuesday, Johnson County Coroner Mike Pruitt said an autopsy found the suspect had eight gunshot wounds and none were self-inflicted.
Dicken was carrying a 9-MM Glock, according to Ison.

8 hits out of like 10 rounds fired at 40-50 yards? Holy hell that guy needs to never buy his own beer for the rest of his life.
I was willing to think "Pistol at that range with a moving armed target, it was basically suppressive fire and he got 1-3 lucky hits." But that many hits? Good for him. Put that shitbag in a hole in the ground.
Damn, 8 hits?? Gotta wonder - did the shooter just not go down, or were some of the hits made while he was flopping around on the floor.....

Could easily be 8 hits and he finally dropped. At that distance who knows where the shots were landing. A person all amped up on adrenaline and who knows what else can take many rounds to the body and still function. Shot till the threat was no longer a threat. This dude had some training and practice. Can’t wait for him to get cleared by his lawyer to really tell his story.

From what I have read he sought cover behind a column and used the column to steady his shots.
Calm in a chaotic situation.
Would like to know what kind of Glock and iron or red dot sights - anyone heard anything?

This kid gets 8 out of 10 on the food court shooter and John Hurley got something like 5 out of 7 on the Arvada Square shooter. These data points don't reflect the gospel from defensive "pundits", who decree it's suicide for a non-expert to take on a rifle armed killer with only a handgun.

The only thing I see that is not accurate is the 200 number. There were more than that.
No concealed carry permit required - they passed Constitutional carry just days(?) prior.
Constitutional Carry became effective July 1st. I have read other reports that Eli obtained a concealed carry permit last year.
I've also read that the first person shot by the scumbag was concealed carrying but never had a chance to react.

Even if you are operating in orange/red at all times, Victim #1 is a hard place to be with a public area spree killer.

Or a slide release on the right side. No wonder he's so good. It's a custom, one-off, hand made Glock!
