Bars let out, cops see a disturbance and a man with a gun. Shots fired, gunman goes down, but numerous bystanders hit.
It seems that the only shots were by three cops......
DPD has been slow and carefully worded on their information releases....

Sounds like the cops need to go to the range more.

I knew something was up with this incident from the non-information press statements. Channel 7 had to get an eyewitness to report what happened.

I agree, and I’ll give the cops a lot of lee-way, but they are using all the bad weasel words and slow-mo info-roll…
The suspect did not fire his weapon, police said in a news release shared earlier on Sunday. Waddy threw the firearm, which has been identified as a 10 mm Rock Island M1911 A2, according to court documents.
10mm… 1911…. The dude may be a couch bag, scum- but he has some advanced tastes from the usual 9mm HiPoint….

I'll bet a nickel is wasn't obtained legally.
"Waddy has had multiple run-ins with law enforcement, including a now dismissed 2017 charge of first-degree murder, according to court records."
Nothing good happens at 1:30am.

Agree, but fixed it for you anyway.
I was thinking they must have been to the same training facility as NYPD, but I'm not sure NYPD would have hit the perpetrator.

This isn’t their first time is it ?
Or was that the NYPD a few years back ?

Some reports suggest the good guy that stopped the recent mall shooter fired 10 rounds from 40 yards (sounds maybe a bit exaggerated but ok) and got 8 hits.
That dude should teach the DPD a thing or two.
Claude Werner would call this a "negative outcome."
Oops.

That was NYPD. Shot numerous bystanders, I seem to recall they didn't hit any bad guys. (I could be wrong about that...it was a LONG time ago.) Glocks famous NYPD 12+ pound trigger.

Some five or ten years ago, this happened at a Pho place on Federal near Mississippi. Guy came in to rob the place. A few plain close DPD were eating. Missed the perp, shot a few people just trying get their soup on.

That may've been the incident that made NYPD retrofit all their Glocks with the infamous "NY trigger" which made them squeeze like a DAO.

NYPD finally going away from 12lb triggers...

I am not sure what is the actual problem. People have been shooting full-weight DA triggers on duty weapons for nearly 150 years. It's not that difficult to achieve combat accuracy.
