Need a gunsmith:

my Dads friend has a remington shotgun that has a poly choke on it. looks like it is fixed. I can't remember the model of the shotgun...it is 12 gauge.

Anyways, he wants it removed and the internal of the barrel threaded so he can put in removable choke tubes like current shotguns.

I told him it was retarded to do that and keep the gun in original condition or I would buy it or trade him a new 12 gauge for it, but he wants to keep the gun and have it done.

so anybody know someone that can do this, and at what price?

thanks

I know you already tried to talk him out of this, but wouldn't be cheaper to just buy a second barrel?

+1

Although it probably doesnt have much value to it, you will certainly kill any value by removing it.
The money your friend would spend having a choke removed and then installed would be more than a new barrel more than likely.

If he's set on doing that...

Nick DiPirro www.shotgunsmith.com (http://www.shotgunsmith.com)

or nick@shotgunsmith.com

Good guy. He's also in Conifer...that may be a little out of the way for you.

okay I will shoot him an email once I get the details on the gun.

I tried to tell my dad to let him know I thought it would be cheaper to just buy a new shotgun, or get a different barrel, but he seems set on getting it done.
I am thinking once he hears the price he may think different.
we will see what Nick says.
