That said, never travel without a way to defend yourself and others, removing any and all penalties for exercising your birthright should have happened a long time ago, so this cannot happen soon enough. What a great time to be alive!

Hope so!!!!
Why do so many fail to recognize the US Constitution as the document that allows any US citizen to bear arms? Concealed or not.

I have less hope for these cases. While I think there should be concealed carry in every state I’m not sure if you can make the jump to saying that there should be reciprocity. Looking at the first amendment, Just because you have a permit for a parade in one state doesn’t mean that you can have that parade in another state. On the other hand a drivers license permit you to drive anywhere, and that’s a privilege, not a right. I think the next issue would be as we’ve seen in places like New York and California that if you end up with a National system, it will be more restrictive than we want. It continues to amaze me that people are against allowing CCW in bars and restaurants. We’ve had that for decades and it obviously isn’t an issue, but lots of other states have that as a bozo no no. Sensitive places and all that. That might pass muster.
What pisses me off about all this is that it is taking so long for us to be able to enjoy the rights that we’ve had for hundreds of years, but the Supreme Court finally openly acknowledged. And return a few states of actually gone the other way and tried to restrict rights even more. It’s kind of like after the 14th amendment and freeing the slaves that some plantations still hold onto their slaves because of some kind of technicality and ignored the clear intent. There has to be a price to pay for these people for denying us these rights. I believe a magazine ban law in Washington or Oregon isn’t going to have the beginning of a trial until December 2023. How is that even conscionable? I guess you could walk into a police station with a Standard capacity magazine and get arrested and then fight it that way. That would probably be quicker, but higher risk. It’s kind of like when Trump won the election in 2016, but I didn’t relax until he actually got inaugurated because of all the machinations that people were trying to do to make sure he didn’t get into office. I feel we’ve won the gun fight, it’s pretty clear, but the forces of evil are trying to the deny us those rights .

Wouldn’t it be great if there was an elected state executive who has the power to resolve this?

I for one do. But, unfortunately, until we get the tyrant Sheriffs, Police Chiefs, and Police Chiefs to recognize it as such, few Men will be willing to act.

Text, History and Tradition should make it clear there is no permit necessary or required for a Free Man to carry Arms for all good, lawful purposes. I am one of those weirdos that does not believe that the right to travel by any means of conveyance should require a license either. The idea that driving a vehicle on public roads built on public land can be somehow construed as a privilege means that in order to exercise most all of your other rights you must first seek a permission slip from other humans who have no higher authority in and of themselves than you do.
